摘要： The Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Processor serves as input and output interface to an ATM switch. The circuit has two operating modes, as converter of Cells to Microcells (CM mode) and as converter of Microcells to Cells (MC mode). The main function of the processor in CM operating mode is that of converting standard ATM cells (53 octets) to a parallel format of microcells (12 or 20 four-bit words, depending on the format programmed) which are processed by a switch, or else, in MC operating mode, the microcells are processed, at the switch output, in reverse manner. It also facilitates functions at ATM level like identifying the virtual path and circuit, performing statistical measurements on throughput to detect loss of information, control quality level of hardware level, insert and extract cells through the external microprocessor which controls the operation of the switch.

摘要： A terminal adapter which acts as an optical line terminator in broad band networks to optimise user or private user network access to a public ATM network. It allows the user to set up point-multipoint connections, to conform traffic for access to the public network and the measurement of transmission performance without interrupting the flow of information. This is achieved by connecting it to a PC to carry out local management of the device which is made up of a physical layer module for carrying out the conversion of optical signal to electric, an ATM layer module which is responsible for the functions of traffic conformity, operation and maintenance and multiplexing, as well as the synchronism module which selects the transmission speed and sends the appropriate synchronism signal to the rest of the device's components.

The base station (101) also performs all necessary RF functions at millimeter-wave frequencies, including beamforming and conversion from complex baseband signals to RF signals and vice versa, and also couples the RF signals to said wireless channel.

摘要： A system, method and device for error detection/estimation in OFDM communications systems is proposed. The disclosed mechanism allows an efficient error prediction in a received data block (e.g. a packet) without using error detection codes that may impair spectral efficiency (due to the overhead) especially when very small size packets are used. In order to do that, it generates a decision variable with the aim to check whether a received block has errors or not, without resorting to the use of error-detection codes.
