    • A silencer for a leaf spring assembly is provided which can realize both improvement in strength of projection portion and prevention of undesirable noise generation and which allows production for silencers to be easier and which can reduce the number of parts of the silencer by simplification of structure of the silencer. A silencer 1 is disposed between end portions of leaf springs 101 and 102 shown in Fig. 1 . The silencer 1 has a two-layer structure which has a fixing layer 11 and a sliding layer 21 which are integrally formed. The fixing layer 11 has a projection portion 12, and the projection portion 12 has an engagement portion 13 at a leading end portion thereof. The fixing layer 11, which is fixed at the fixing side leaf spring 101, has a tensile strength higher than the sliding layer 21. The sliding layer 21, which abuts the sliding side leaf spring 102, has a hardness lower than the fixing layer 11. The projection portion 12 of the fixing layer 11 can have sufficient strength to resist the shearing force. In the sliding layer 21, undesirable noise generation is difficult, and even when a load transmission portion of an end portion of the sliding side leaf spring 102 partially abuts the sliding layer 21, undesirable noise generation can be prevented.

      A silencer 1 is disposed between end portions of leaf springs 101 and 102 shown in Fig. 1 . The silencer 1 has a two-layer structure which has a fixing layer 11 and a sliding layer 21 which are integrally formed. The fixing layer 11 has a projection portion 12, and the projection portion 12 has an engagement portion 13 at a leading end portion thereof. The fixing layer 11, which is fixed at the fixing side leaf spring 101, has a tensile strength higher than the sliding layer 21. The sliding layer 21, which abuts the sliding side leaf spring 102, has a hardness lower than the fixing layer 11. The projection portion 12 of the fixing layer 11 can have sufficient strength to resist the shearing force. In the sliding layer 21, undesirable noise generation is difficult, and even when a load transmission portion of an end portion of the sliding side leaf spring 102 partially abuts the sliding layer 21, undesirable noise generation can be prevented.

    • A curved portion 123, which has a curved cross section, is formed at the recess 121 of the pad 110. The curved portion 123 has a contact portion 123A which contacts the tension surface of the leaf spring 12, which is disposed so as to face the curved portion 123, in an initial condition. The curved portion 123 has a thickness which is reduced from the contact portion 123A to an end portion of the curved portion 123, thereby being spaced from the tension surface of the leaf spring 12. In the pad 110, the height of the curved portion 123 of the recess 121 is set such that contact of the tension surface of the leaf spring 12 and the corner portion of the end portion of the curved portion 123 can be avoided when the stroke length of the end portion of the leaf spring 12 is at maximum. Thus, the tension surface of the leaf spring 12 is not worn by the corner portion of the end portion of the curved portion 123. As a result, breakage of the leaf spring, which may be caused by wear, can be prevented.

    • The present invention relates to a passive vibration isolation device for broadband suppression of vibrations. The device preferably comprises either a vertical spring filter (206, 208), a horizontal spring filter (204), or a combination of the two. The vertical spring filter may comprise any number of Belleville (208) or ZK (700) washers, stacked in series, in parallel, or any combination thereof. ZK washers are washers which comprise multiple integral concentric rings of varying conicity. The device further may optionally comprise a screw (1416), belt (2408), or similar device for adjusting the aspect ratio of the vertical spring. The device further may optionally comprise a screw (212), or similar device for adjusting the static load placed on the vertical spring. The horizontal spring filter may comprise any number of bearings retained within a conical raceway (222, 224) disposed between two cylindrical plates (114). The vibration isolation device then may be placed beneath a machine, or a platform supporting a machine, to isolate vibrations otherwise transmissible from the floor to the machine or vice versa.
