    • The object of the invention is to create a central water-loss prevention system which blocks the main water feed pipe after intentional or unintentional removal or leakage of a water volume limit fixed for each application, said limit being, in the opinion of insurers, below the limit for causing damage for each application, and consequently prevents further removal. The central water-loss prevention system in a main water feed pipe is characterised in that a volume counter comparing a volume limit fixed for the corresponding application with the volume removed is operatively connected to a shut-off device of the main water feed pipe in such a manner that when the preset volume limit has flowed through a command closing the shut-off device is triggered and when a volume limit lower than the preset volume limit has flowed through there is no triggering of the command closing the shut-off device. The invention relates to a central water-loss prevention system in a main water feed pipe from which a plurality of removal points or consumers can be supplied with water, for example the main water feed pipe of a detached house or a house for several families, the main water feed pipe of an individual flat or an individual business or a construction site water supply pipe. In such cases normal water removal for any removal volumes must be ensured and, at the same time, unintentional discharge of water must be prevented at the removal points and in entire pipe systems.

    • A method for signalling a loss of liquid in a portion of hydraulic circuit supplied by a supply of liquid, and a relative system. The method, starting from a condition in which the supply of liquid to the portion of hydraulic circuit is interrupted, comprises verifying periodically if the pressure value of the liquid contained in the portion of hydraulic circuit is lower than a minimum pressure value, and if this is true enables supplying liquid to the portion of hydraulic circuit and carrying out following steps: calculating the overall volume of the liquid which has transited through the portion of hydraulic circuit and if equal to or higher than a maximum volume value, then interrupting supply of liquid to the portion of hydraulic circuit, signalling a loss of liquid and halting the carrying out of the method; periodically verifying whether the flow rate of the liquid transiting through the portion of hydraulic circuit is lower than a minimum flow rate value or if the pressure value of the liquid contained in the portion of hydraulic circuit is greater than a maximum pressure value, and if this is true interrupting supply of liquid to the portion of hydraulic circuit and repeating the method.

    • By monitoring pressure transients in a liquid within a liquid distribution system using only a single sensor, events such as the opening and closing of valves at specific fixtures are readily detected. The sensor, which can readily be coupled to a faucet bib, transmits an output signal to a computing device. Each such event can be identified by the device based by comparing characteristic features of the pressure transient waveform with previously observed characteristic features for events in the system. These characteristic features, which can include the varying pressure, derivative, and real Cepstrum of the pressure transient waveform, can be used to select a specific fixture where a valve open or close event has occurred. Flow to each fixture and leaks in the system can also be determined from the pressure transient signal. A second sensor disposed at a point disparate from the first sensor provides further event information.
