    • There is provided an intracavity module (150) arranged to be replaceably-mounted inside a laser resonator cavity. The intracavity module comprises a first optical element (104), a second optical element (102) and a frequency conversion element (107). The frequency conversions element is arranged to receive light at a first frequency and output light at a second frequency. The first optical element is at least partially transmissive at the first frequency. The frequency conversion element is encapsulated by at least the first optical element and the second optical element. The laser resonator may comprise a HR end mirror (101), a Q-switch (108), a Nd:YAG laser gain medium (105), a mirror (103) being transmissive at the laser fundamental and reflective at its second-harmonic, a second-harmonic generating non-linear crystal (106), the first optical element (104) being a mirror reflective at the third-harmonic and transmissive at the fundamental and the SH, a non-linear crystal (107) for generating the third-harmonic and a mirror (102) reflecting laser fundamental and SH and transmitting the third-harmonic. The module (150) may be translated to provide a non-damage part of the facet of the third-harmonic generating crystal (107) or replaced in case this non-linear-crystal can not be used any more to extend the lifetime of the laser.
