摘要： A medical connector for minimizing leakage of fluids during connection and disconnection is described. The medical connector includes a body having an inlet port, at least one outlet port adjacent to a male luer portion of the body, and a fluid path between the inlet port and the at least one outlet ports. A retractable seal adjacent to the male luer portion of the body and blocks the outlet ports of the body when the male luer portion of the medical connect is in a disconnected state. The retractable seal is positioned on the body such that it is moved away from the outlet ports upon insertion of the male luer portion of the medical connector into a medical access device thereby unblocking the outlet ports and creating a fluid path through the medical connector.

摘要： A self-sealing male connector (60) having a body (62), a resilient boot (64) mounted over the body, and a male thread hub. The body is formed with an elongate post (78) that extends to the distal end. The body includes a fluid flow lumen (116) extending from its proximal end (70) to its distal end (114) At its proximal end, the body may be formed as a female Luer connector, or may be directly connected to tubing, or other arrangements. The internal fluid flow lumen extends through the post to its distal end. The body includes a first groove in which is mounted the boot. In a second groove is mounted the thread cuff. The thread cuff is used to a female connector and through thread action, draw in into engagement with the post. As the female connector (194) is further engaged with the sealed male connector, the post protrudes through the boot and into fluid communication with the female fluid flow passage thus establishing a flow path through both connectors. The boot forms a seal with the female connector when engaged and returns to seal the male connector post and fluid flow passage within disconnected from the female connector.

摘要： A needleless injection site comprising a housing (12) which defines an interior chamber (22) and a central opening (24) which communicates with the interior chamber. The housing further defines a proximally extending dilator projection portion (38) which is coaxially aligned with the central opening and a distally extending adapter portion (40). The dilator projection and adapter portions define a continuous fluid passage. Disposed within the central opening and the interior chamber is a reseal member (60) which has an elastically openable and closable aperture formed therein. The reseal member normally resides in a first position within the housing wherein the aperture is in closed configuration. The reseal member is deformable such that the application of distally directed pressure thereto will cause the reseal member to distally advance within the housing to a second position wherein the aperture assumes an open configuration and communicates with the fluid passage.
