摘要： There is disclosed a process for making a polyurethane condom having a substantially uniform thickness of from i0.038mm (0.0015 inch) to 0.102mm (0.004 inch), which process comprises:

providing a solvent solution of a polyurethane polymer or a polyurethane prepolymer;
permitting a mould, on which the condom is to be fashioned, to contact the solvent solution to deposit a film of the solvent solution on the surface of the mould;
heating the deposited film to effect curing of the film; and
removing the cured polyurethane condom from the mould;
wherein the polymer or prepolymer is the product of a reaction between a polyisocyanate and at least one long chain polyol; wherein the polyol is amorphous at room temperature, has an average molecular weight of from 500 to 5,000 and an average hydroxy number of from 225 to 22.4; and wherein the polyisocyanate has an NCO:OH ratio in the range from 0.95:1 to 1.1:1. A polyurethane condom produced by the process is also disclosed.

摘要： Physiological pressure transducers convert an applied pressure (e.g. blood pressure) into an electric signal, which can be displayed by a monitor as a numerical value or continuous waveform. While reusable pressure transducers have been used for a number of years, innovations in solid-state technology have made disposable transducers feasible. In particular, disposable assemblies with transducers which are preferably impedance matched for use with monitors formerly used for reusable transducers, are disclosed. The pressure transducer assembly can be rugged on account of the careful mounting of the transducer diaphragm and integral compensation circuitry. In addition, the geometric configuration of the flow path is uniform such that debubbling of the unit is easy.

摘要： A device for welding an IV tube into fluid communication with a lumen of a catheter comprises a grounded metal adapter which is operatively associated with a dielectric collet to clampingly engage and hold a catheter in the collet. The device further comprises a metal mandrel which is partially inserted into an IV tube and positioned so that part of the IV tube and mandrel extend into a portion of a lumen of the catheter. With the IV tube and mandrel positioned in the lumen, the dielectric collet is further engaged to compressingly urge the lumen sidewall into contact with the outer surface of the IV tube. RF energy is then applied to the mandrel to weld the IV tube into the lumen.
