    • There is disclosed a process for making a polyurethane condom having a substantially uniform thickness of from i0.038mm (0.0015 inch) to 0.102mm (0.004 inch), which process comprises:

      providing a solvent solution of a polyurethane polymer or a polyurethane prepolymer;
      permitting a mould, on which the condom is to be fashioned, to contact the solvent solution to deposit a film of the solvent solution on the surface of the mould;
      heating the deposited film to effect curing of the film; and
      removing the cured polyurethane condom from the mould;
      wherein the polymer or prepolymer is the product of a reaction between a polyisocyanate and at least one long chain polyol; wherein the polyol is amorphous at room temperature, has an average molecular weight of from 500 to 5,000 and an average hydroxy number of from 225 to 22.4; and wherein the polyisocyanate has an NCO:OH ratio in the range from 0.95:1 to 1.1:1. A polyurethane condom produced by the process is also disclosed.
