The meal delivery system includes a heat control means comprising a removable lid with first and second indicators for the food serving pan and a sensor means in the frame for detecting the first and second indicators and selectively controlling application of the electrical power delivered to the food serving pan for controlling the level of heat applied to the food within the food pan. A first preferred embodiment includes a mobile food service cart having a plurality of interior stations for receiving a corresponding number of food pans within the food service cart, each station including one second electrical connector for mating with the first electrical connector of the food pan. A second preferred embodiment includes a chafing dish serving frame adapted to support a single food serving pan on a serving surface and includes one second electrical connector for mating with the first electrical connector.

Erfindungsgemäß hat das Tischgestell (2) vier senk­rechte Tischstützen (4, 5, 6, 7) an den vier Ecken, wobei an einer Tischstütze (6, 7) wenigstens ein Seitenregal (14, 15) schwenkbar über Scharniere (33) so angeordnet ist, daß es mit samt allen zur Tischseite hin weisenden Ablagen (24, 25) oder Einbauten (28, 29, 30) von der Längsseite her an das Tischge­stell (2) herangeschwenkt werden kann und die Ablagen und Ein­bauten unter die Tischplatte (31) bzw. in den Freiraum des Tischgestells (2) gelangen. An den Rahmen der Seitenregale (14, 15) ist dazu weit nach außen ein Stützrad (34) ange­bracht. Die erfindungsgemäße Anordnung führt zu einer kom­pakten Ausführung eines Meßwagens mit großem Aufnahmevolmen, einer hohen Stabilität und Standsicherheit und einem univer­sellen Einsatz bei guter Bedienbarkeit.
