    • A steering actuator (22) including a motor (28) having a rotor (30, 32) including opposing input (32a) and output (32b) ends. A driven gear (36) is supported on the input end (32a) of the rotor shaft (30, 32) for rotation with the rotor shaft and the output end (32b) provides a rotational output of the steering actuator (22). An override shaft (52) is supported for rotation parallel to the rotor (30, 32) and a drive gear (62) is supported for rotation with the override shaft wherein the drive gear (62) is longitudinally movable relative to the driven gear (36) to engage and disengage the drive gear (62) relative to the driven gear (36). A coupling structure (66) is provided on an end (52a) of the override shaft for detachable engagement with an auxiliary driver (75). The auxiliary driver provides a rotational driving force to the override shaft for effecting rotation of the rotor shaft.
