    • A work space management system for dividing a room into separate work areas comprising a wall system having a rigid framework formed of rigid rectangular frames (40) rigidly joined together at the edges thereof to form at least one work area (12, 14), wire management elements (26, 28) in the and secured to the frames (40) for communication and power wiring (96. 88) and a plurality of modular panels (48) removably hanging on the frames (40). At least some of the wire management elements (26, 28) are secured to the bottom or baseline of the frames (40) and at least some of the wire management elements (26, 28) are removably secured to a waistline or midportion of at least some of the frames (40). In some cases, the frames (40) only extend to a waist height and in other cases, the frames (40) only extend to a full panel height. The panels (48) are sized to fit between the waistline wire management elements (28) and the baseline wire management elements (26) to substantially cover the frames (40) therebetween. The work management system provides an architectural wall system with flexibility for interchangeable panels (48) for different decorative effects as well as functional features. The panels (48) can be fabric or vinyl covered, or can comprise acoustical panels, window panels, work-in-process panel rails (154) or lighting panels.

    • An operator work station defined by a wall (66) having a support assembly (80) for mounting a monitor (76) within a housing (78) within an opening (66a) in the wall, the support assembly enabling the monitor to have four degrees of freedom. The support assembly (80) includes a counterbalanced horizontal bar (88) slidably disposed in the opening (66a) parallel to the wall for enabling the monitor (76) to be raised and lowered parallel to the wall. Bearings (118a, 118b) rigidly secured to the bar (88) receive rods (120a, 120b) rigidly secured to a horizontal plate (120), the movement of which enables the monitor to be moved perpendicular to the wall (66). A shaped plate (130) pivotally connected between the horizontal plate (120) and the housing (78) enables the monitor (76) to rotate about a vertical axis. Such rotation is limited by posts (116a, 166b) rigidly secured to the bar (88) which engage the sides of the shaped plate (130) when the shaped plate is rotated with respect to the wall. A shutter (134) pivotally mounted within the housing (78) for rotation around a horizontal axis (D) has upper and lower arc-shaped panels (134c, 134d) which frictionally engage the upper and lower plates of the housing (78) to enable the monitor to rotate around the horizontal axis (D) to adjust the tilt of the monitor.

    • A work space management system comprises a rigid framework formed of rigid rectangular frames (40) rigidly joined together at the edges thereof to form at least one work area, each of said frames having outer faces; panels (48) mounted to said frames, at least some of said panels (48) having a decorative outer surface; said panels comprise interchangeable modular panels (48a, 150) of a width substantially equal to the width of said rectangular frames (40) and of common height no greater than half the height of said frames (40); means for removably mounting said panels (48) to said outer faces of said frames.
      At least other of said panels (150, 118, 48a) are functional panels which perform a technical function in the work space and at least one of said functional panels has a pass-through opening, a window, a marker surface, a number of rails (154) for supporting work tools (160), a light, a CRT screen or wire management (118) to provide management of electrical and/or communication wiring behind the panels.
