摘要： Method and apparatus for processing transmit power control (TPC) commands in a wideband CDMA (WCDMA) network are disclosed and may include calculating a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of a downlink dedicated physical channel (DPCH) based on a plurality of transmit power control (TPC) bits received via the downlink DPCH. A value of at least one of said plurality of TPC bits is not known when said at least one of said plurality of TPC bits is received. Transmit power for at least one uplink communication path may be adjusted based on the calculated SNR of the downlink dedicated physical channel. At least one reliability weight value may be calculated for at least a portion of the received TCP bits, based on the calculated SNR.

摘要： A mobile terminal is controlled via over-the-air feedback so as to enable its data transmissions to be independently and successfully decoded at each of the base stations in its active set absent a transmit power limitation or data retransmission limit. Using the decoded data, the channel is re-estimated and the waveform received from the mobile terminal is reconstructed and subtracted from the total interference at each base station in the active set where decoding has been successful. As a result, transmissions from other mobile terminals, which have yet to be successfully decoded at such a base station, will experience a higher signal-to-noise ratio and thus an increased likelihood of being successfully decoded.

The base station tracks the commands sent to the wireless terminal and estimates the wireless terminal's control channel transmit power. An estimate of the error rate of transmitted power control signals is generated based using the tracked power command information and received power report information. Adjustments are performed in the power control command signaling to compensate for estimated error rates.

摘要： A wireless communication device or system generates transmit power control feedback for a received power control channel by determining a command error rate (CER), or by identifying a target signal quality for the power control channel according to a defined signal-quality-to-CER mapping function. Generally, the power control channel does not include error-coded data to use for CER estimation. However, in one embodiment, the channel does include known reference bits that are evaluated for CER estimation, with the estimated CER used to set the signal quality target for inner loop power control. In other embodiments, a computed reception error probability is used to identify a CER estimate according to a defined probability-to-CER mapping function. By way of non-limiting example, these embodiments may be used to provide power control feedback for power control commands transmitted on a Fractional Dedicated Physical Channel in WCDMA systems.
