    • The invention relates to an adhesive composition comprising (i) one or more styrenic block copolymer compositions, (ii) a tackifier resin, and (iii) one or more plasticizers, wherein said styrenic block copolymer composition comprises: a. a tetra-branched block copolymer (IV) represented by the general formula (A-B)4X; b. a tri-branched block copolymer (III) represented by the general formula (A-B)3X; c. a di-branched block copolymer (II) represented by the general formula (A-B)2X; and d. a linear diblock copolymer (I) represented by the general formula A-B; where: i. A represents a polymer block of a mono alkenyl arene; ii. B represents a polymer block of a mixture of isoprene and 1,3-butadiene in a weight ratio of isoprene to butadiene from about 70:30 to about 40:60; iii. X represents the residue of a multi-functional coupling agent; iv. the weight percent of A blocks is from about 14% to about 22%; v. the relative amounts of copolymers IV, III, II, and I are from 0 to 20 weight percent IV, from 50 to 80 weight percent III, from 0 to 20 weight percent II and from 20 to 50 weight percent I, where the total of I, II, III and IV equals 100 weight percent; and vi. the melt flow rate of the polymer composition is at least 2.0 g/10 minutes at 200° C./5 kg as measured by ASTM D1238 (D condition).

    • Disclosed is a method for making selectively hydrogenated block copolymers of vinyl aromatic hydrocarbons and conjugated dienes comprising: a) anionically polymerizing vinyl aromatic hydrocarbons and conjugated dienes to produce block copolymers with living chain ends; b) terminating the living chain ends, to produce a terminated block copolymer, with a member from the group consisting of an alcohol, hydrogen, and mixtures thereof, to prepare a terminated block copolymer; and c) contacting the terminated block copolymers with hydrogen at a temperature of from 20 to 175° C in the presence of a catalyst prepared by combining a cobalt carboxylate with an aluminum alkyl, wherein: (i) if the polymer is terminated with an alcohol and the alcohol is a linear alcohol, the linear alcohol is used to terminate the living chain ends in an amount such that the alcohol: living chain end molar ratio is from 0.05 to 1.2; (ii) if the polymer is terminated with an alcohol and the alcohol is a branched alcohol, the branched alcohol is used to terminate the living chain ends in an amount such that the alcohol: living chain end molar ration is from 0.05 to about 3.0; an (iii) if the polymer is terminated with an alcohol and the alcohol is a mixture of a linear alcohol and a branched alcohol, the linear alcohol is used to terminate the living chain ends in an amount such that the linear alcohol: living chain end molar ration is from 0.05 to 1.2.

    • The present invention provides a bituminous roofing composition which comprises from 2 to 20 percent by weight, based on block copolymer plus bitumen, of a styrenic block copolymer composition, the balance being a bituminous material, wherein the styrenic block copolymer composition comprises:

      a. from 5 to 70% by weight of a first block copolymer selected from linear styrenic block copolymers (SBC1), radial styrenic block copolymers (SBC2) and mixtures thereof, wherein:

      i. said linear block copolymer comprises at least two polymer blocks each substantially made of an aromatic vinyl compound and at least one polymer block substantially made of a conjugated diene compound and having an apparent molecular weight greater than 250,000 and;
      ii. said radial styrenic block copolymer has three or more polymer arms attached to the residue of a cross-linking agent or multifunctional compound, and comprises at least two polymer blocks each substantially made of an aromatic vinyl compound and at least one polymer block substantially made of a conjugated diene compound and wherein the polymer arms have an average apparent molecular weight greater than 125,000 and

      b. from 95 to 30% by weight of an elastomer (EI) having an apparent molecular weight of 120,000 to 250,000.

      The present invention also comprises a easy welding roll roofing membrane which comprises a reinforcing mat and the above described bituminous composition which saturates and/or coats the reinforcing mat.
