The method includes removaby attaching segmented ring details 852-856 to aircraft skin details 210, attaching stringers 320 to skin details to create skin assemblies, positioning skin assemblies at a support structure defining a contour, and fastening frames 310 to the skin assemblies to create a panel. The method also includes removably installing a spreader section 800 onto the panel to complete assembly of a brace prior to removal of the panel, transporting the panel while the brace enforces the contour, attaching the brace to braces for other panels to form a barrel section of a fuselage for an aircraft while the brace enforces the contour, and removing the brace from the barrel section after the barrel section has been formed.

In the context of a system, a tacking cell is provided that is configured to tack one or more stringers to a skin plank. The system also includes a riveting cell configured to receive a tacked plank from the tacking cell and to rivet the one or more stringers to the skin plank. The system also includes a splicing cell configured to receive a plurality of riveted planks from the riveting cell and to attach one or more splice stringers to the plurality of riveted planks. Further, the system includes a side of body cell configured to receive a spliced panel from the splicing cell and to attach a side of body chord thereto to produce a wing panel.

The method includes preparing (205) a surface of an aircraft part in a first processing booth to form a prepared surface of the aircraft part. The method also includes transporting the aircraft part to a second processing booth being adjacent to the first processing booth upon completion of preparing the surface. The method further includes applying (210) a livery to the prepared surface of the aircraft part in a second processing booth and upon completion of applying the livery, transporting the aircraft part to a third processing booth being adjacent to the second processing booth.
