    • The invention relates to a method for producing a multi-layer large pipe, which has an outer carrier layer (1) and at least one inner application layer (2). Advantages regarding productivity and properties of the multi-layer large pipe are achieved by the sequence of the following method steps: - providing a carrier sheet for the carrier layer (1), which carrier sheet is pre-bent to a predetermined initial bending radius (RBO), and at least one application sheet for the application layer (2), which application sheet is pre-bent to a predetermined initial bending radius (RAO); - applying the at least one pre-bent application sheet to the inside of the pre-bent carrier sheet in order to form the carrier layer (1) and the at least one application layer (2), wherein the longitudinal edges of the pre-bent application sheet extending in the direction of the bending axis are positioned and oriented in parallel; - connecting at least the two longitudinal edges (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) of the at least one application sheet to the carrier sheet in a bonded manner; - shaping the composite of the carrier layer (1) and at least one application layer (2) connected in a bonded manner into a slotted multi-layer large pipe by means of a bending machine, wherein contact regions not connected in a bonded manner are connected in a force-closed manner; - closing the remaining gap of the slotted multi-layer large pipe with a longitudinal seam by welding.

    • Provided is a submerged arc welding method for a steel plate which is preferably used in making and welding a large diameter pipe such as a UOE steel pipe or a spiral steel pipe. As specific means, in welding the steel plate from an internal surface or an external surface by a submerged arc welding, welding condition is set such that, a cross-sectional area of internal weld metal S 1 and a cross-sectional area of external weld metal S 2 satisfy the formula (1), the formula (2), and the formula (3), that is, 0.40≤(S1+S2)/t 2 ≤0.80 ...... (1), S 1 /t 2 ≤0.35 ...... (2), and S 2 /t 2 ≤0.45 ...... (3), wherein t: a plate thickness of the steel plate (mm), S 1 : a cross-sectional area of the internal weld metal (mm 2 ) excluding the cross-sectional area of a portion of the internal weld metal overlapping with the external weld metal after external welding, and S 2 : a cross-sectional area of the external weld metal (mm 2 ).
