摘要： A molten steel pouring nozzle (1) which comprises: a nozzle body (2) comprising an alumina-graphite refractory, having, along the axis thereof, a bore (3) through which molten steel flows; and an outer refractory layer (4) arranged on an outside portion of the nozzle body (2) so as to be integral with the nozzle body and to be flush with an outer surface thereof, the outer refractory layer being arranged on a portion of the outside portion of the nozzle body, which portion is in contact, when a lower portion of the molten steel pouring nozzle is immersed into molten steel, with the open air without being immersed into the molten steel, and the outer refractory layer consisting essentially of:

alumina (Al₂O₃)
from 40 to 75 wt.%,

carbon (C)
from 10 to 30 wt.%,

silica (SiO₂)
from 1 to 30 wt.%,

silicon carbide (SiC)
from 1 to 20 wt.%,

and

low-melting glass
from 1 to 10 wt.%.

- 摘要： Disclosed herein is a casting apparatus for low-melting metals which has a coating layer of two-layered structure which hardly reacts with low-melting metals, adheres firmly to the substrate, and protects the substrate from thermal and mechanical shocks for a long period of time. The layer in contact with the substrate contains glass powder having a melting point below 1000°C and at least one binder selected from silicates and phosphates. The layer in contact with molten metal contains 5 - 80 wt% of at least one fluorine compound (as a corrosion resistant material) having a melting point of above 700°C. Owing to the multiple layers, each having a specialized function, the casting apparatus has improved durability over a long period of time.

- 摘要： Revêtement isolant pour la protection thermique de corps réfractaires en matières céramiques tels que les busettes immergées de coulée servant à la coulée continue de l'acier et d' autres métaux. Le revêtement est une suspension comprenant, de préférence, en poids : 30 à 85% de grains de silice vitreuse, 0 à 10% de fibres céramiques, 0 à 7% de liant, 0 à 40% de fritte et 15 à 30% d'eau ; après application d'une glaçure anti-oxydante, on plonge le corps réfractaire (température ambiante ou préchauffée) dans une composition défloculée pendant une période réglée de 5 à 60 secondes pour obtenir un revêtement de 1 à 6 mm d'épaisseur ; le corps revêtu est alors séché et prêt à servir. On peut utiliser les busettes revêtues pour le démarrage à froid d'une coulée continue sans exiger de préchauffage.

The lining 22 prevents harmful buildup of alumina and other oxides within the nozzle bore 12 which may cause premature nozzle clogging. The nozzle liner 22 comprises a carbon-bonded, SiAlO N-graphite refractory material. Small amounts of antioxidants and additional amounts of less expensive refractory grain or powder are also added to dilute the more expensive siAlON material.

In another embodiment, a refractory for sliding nozzle containing 10 to 98 wt % of aluminum nitride, and a nozzle of continuously casting steel containing 3 to 60 wt % of aluminum nitride oxide and 10 to 40 wt % of carbon and/or graphite are also disclosed. Both the refractory and the nozzle have prolonged service lives.
