    • A nonaqueous electrolyte battery incorporating a case constituted by a laminate film and accommodating a unit cell such that the unit cell is sealed by heat welding; and electrode terminal leads electrically connected to electrodes which constitute the unit cell and sandwiched by a heat weld portion so as to be exposed to the outside of the case, wherein the electrode terminal leads are coated with sealant resin at a position corresponding to the heat weld portion, and at least a portion of the sealant resin which is in contact with either principal plane of each of the electrode terminal leads is deformed along the shape of each of the electrode terminal leads so that at least the portion of the sealant resin is formed into an uneven shape. To realize the foregoing state of coating, the heater head is provided with a elastic member when the sealant resin is bonded to the electrode terminal leads. The sealant resin has a single-layer structure or a multilayer structure having a central material made of resin having a high melting point.

    • A nonaqueous-electrolyte battery which is capable of preventing introduction of water and deterioration in the capacity thereof is disclosed. The nonaqueous-electrolyte battery according to the present invention incorporates a case constituted by laminated films; and a unit cell which is accommodated in the case and having a structure that the peripheries of the case is sealed with heat, wherein when an assumption is made that the quantity of water capable of penetrating a heat-weld resin layer which is the innermost layer of the case having a thickness of T (µm) is R (g/m 2 ·day), the cross sectional area of resin in a heat-sealed portion is S (cm 2 ), an average width of the heat-sealed portion is W (cm) and the capacity of the unit cell is C (Wh), the following relationship is satisfied: (T X R X S)/(W X C) ≤ 0.96 µg/Wh·day. When the foregoing structure is employed, water introducing rate can be reduced to 350 µg/year or lower per capacity (Wh).

    • A battery pack includes a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, a rigid covering member, and a protection circuit board. The secondary battery includes a battery element and a flexible covering member formed of a first laminated film composed of a first heat-bonding layer, a first metal layer, and a first outer covering layer laminated successively. The flexible covering member is sealed along around the battery element while leaving electrode terminals of the positive and negative electrodes extended outside the battery element. The rigid covering member is formed of a second laminated film composed of a second heat-bonding layer, a second metal layer, and a second outer covering layer laminated successively. The flexible covering member and the rigid covering member are bonded with an adhesive strength equal to or higher than atmospheric pressure and with a peel strength equal to or lower than a breaking strength of the flexible covering member.
