摘要： Electrostatic build-up is suppressed in vehicles including aircraft by a regulated exchange between the vehicle and the surrounding atmosphere. A metallic mass (X), which is set on neutral earth potential and sheltered within a Faraday cage and insulating material, feeds to one FET, along with a vehicle body input (1) to a second FET, of a bridge circuit which includes a comparator. Unbalanced FET inputs to the bridge enables the comparator output to turn on one or more Greinacher-Bouwers-Cockcroft cascades. Restored balanced FET inputs then act to turn off the cascade(s).

A moisture detector (56) indicates the presence of moisture and can activate a blower (110) for drying this moisture so that normal presence of moisture will not affect the floor structure's ability to control electrostatic charge. The resistance of the flooring can be adjusted so that electrostatic charges are dissipated at different rates eliminating problems such as rapid discharge rates and even distribution of insulating and conducting material found in previous floor structures.
