    • In the structure of a vehicle-mounted display system, a pair of racks, that is, a first rack and a second rack, are secured to a sliding chassis which can move forward and backward inside a case. A pair of arms, that is, a first arm and a second arm, are swingably supported by a movable base which rotatably supports a monitor, with a third motor serving as a driving source of the monitor being disposed between the pair of arms. A first gear that engages the first rack and a first motor serving as a driving source of the first gear are installed on the first arm. A second gear which engages the second rack and a second motor serving as a driving source of the second gear are installed on the second arm. When the monitor is drawn in and out, both motors are operated in order to move both gears along their corresponding racks in the same direction, as a result of which the movable base is moved forward and backward. When adjustments are made in the viewing angle of the monitor, both of the motors are operated differently from each other in order to integrally rotate the movable base and the monitor. The invention provides a vehicle-mounted display system which can adjust the viewing angle of the monitor using electrical power by a simple structure.

    • A protection panel is provided that enhances the color quality and/or contrast of a rear projection television set. The protection panel has a spectral transmittance that peaks at dominant wavelengths of red, green, and blue light, and that is reduced at wavelengths between red and green light and between green and blue light. The spectral transmittance at the dominant wavelengths is between sixty and eighty percent. Preferably, the spectral transmittance at the wavelengths between red and green light and between green and blue light are at least five percent less than at the dominant wavelengths. In addition, the spectral transmittance at a dominant wavelength of red light is about five percent less than at a dominant wavelength of blue light to reduce blue color saturation.

    • The display screen of a cathode ray tube is inspected. The arrangement with which the display screen is inspected comprises an adjustable mirror arrangement and an adjustable focal lens. By means of the arrangement, a set of sub-images is picked up, which sub-images are analyzed. The movable elements of the mirror arrangement and the focal lens are not moved during the image pick-up operation so as not to disturb the measurements. The difference data between picked-up images and standard images are generated in a unit, and errors are detected with reference to these difference data. These errors are preferably ordered as to magnitude and/or importance.

    • A securing structure for VESA cover of a LCD monitor. The securing structure has a rear cover, a VESA cover, a shield, and a plurality of extended nuts. The rear cover has a depression formed on a predetermined location of the rear surface. A plurality of first through holes are formed at an indented portion of the depression. The VESA cover has a plurality of second through holes formed at locations corresponding to the first through holes and the second through holes engage the depression of the rear cover. The shield is placed at inner side of the rear cover and has a plurality of third through holes at locations corresponding to the first and the second through holes. The extended nuts are inserted into the third holes of the shield. Engaging screws penetrate the first and the second through holes and engage the extended nuts so that said VESA cover is installed onto the squared depression of the rear cover.

    • An integrated plastic shield for shielding the electromagnetic waves of a cathode ray tube in monitors is disclosed. The shield is formed of a conductive or nonconductive plastic material into a single structure through an injection molding process, with a plurality of elastic ground terminals for grounding both the band and the funnel of the cathode ray tube being integrated with the single body through the molding process. A degaussing coil fixing member is integrated with the shield's internal surface. When the shield is formed of a nonconductive plastic material, the shield has to be coated or plated with a conductive material on its surface. The shield is free from any sharpened edge thus being free from causing any damage or injury to the covered degaussing coil or to the body of a worker while the shield is set in a monitor.

    • An integrally weighted base suitable for attachment to a bottom surface of an enclosure to form an integrally weighted cabinet. The integrally weighted cabinet is able to satisfy load bearing and tip over standards without requiring the addition of separate weights. The base preferably includes a frame and fill material disposed within the frame. The frame may be metal or plastic. Fill material is poured into the frame and allowed to set. The fill material may be any suitable material having a density sufficient to act as a weight or counterbalance, such as, e.g., concrete, a concrete and fiber mixture, metal, or a concrete and metal mixture. The base may further include a plurality of openings to dissipate heat from within the interior space of the cabinet. In one implementation of the present invention, the base replaces a bottom panel of a typical PTV cabinet and further eliminates the need for attaching separate weights onto a bottom panel of a typical PTV cabinet.
