The network may be a communications network or a transportation network with data generated by a traffic sensor or a sensor aboard a vehicle.

摘要： A method is provided for monitoring data communications performance over a network. Remote connections are established to network termination devices of a set of network users served by a predetermined portion of the network to retrieve parameter data generated by the devices comprising values for a set of parameters indicating data communications performance over that portion of the network. Principal component analysis of the data determines principal component directions of variation. Models of data communications performance are generated for that portion of the network in terms of value ranges in a projection of the parameter data into a coordinate system defined by the determined principal components. In a monitoring phase, the same parameters are retrieved from a selected network termination device served by the same portion of the network and projected into the coordinate system of the generated models to expose significantly divergent behaviour, potentially indicating a fault condition.

One or more workflows are generated from the configuration recommendation and executed on the plurality of nodes to generate output for the multimedia stream analytics composition.
