摘要： An arrangement for adjusting a clock signal (115) in a network element (101) of a communications network comprises a processor device (111 to 114) arranged to produce a control variable (116) containing information about synchronisation messages (106 to 109) received from at least two other network elements (102 to 105). A situation in which the reception from a sending network element of synchronisation messages of a good enough quality ceases will not significantly disturb the clock signal to be adjusted because only a part of the control variable used for the adjustment depends on synchronisation messages sent by an individual network element. In an arrangement according to an advantageous embodiment the reference value of the control variable is changed in response to a situation where the reception from a sending network element of synchronisation messages of a good enough quality ceases. Thus it is possible to reduce the change of the difference between the control variable and its reference value which further reduces disturbances caused in the clock signal to be adjusted.

摘要： A channel structure has at least two channel sets. Each channel set contains multiple channels and is associated with a specific mapping of the channels to the system resources available for data transmission. Each channel set may be defined based on a channel tree having a hierarchical structure. To achieve intra-cell interference diversity, the channel-to-resource mapping for each channel set is pseudo-random with respect to the mapping for each remaining channel set. In each scheduling interval, terminals are scheduled for transmission on the forward and/or reverse link. The scheduled terminals are assigned channels from the channel sets. Multiple terminals may use the same system resources and their overlapping transmissions may be separated in the spatial domain. For example, beamforming may be performed to send multiple overlapping transmissions on the forward link, and receiver spatial processing may be performed to separate out multiple overlapping transmissions received on the reverse link.

摘要： In a communication system where data is transmitted on k sub-carriers and N pilot channels are averaged for coherent demodulation, k+N-1 pilot channels are broadcast on the k sub-carriers. For a second embodiment the first and the last sub-carriers comprise an additional plurality of pilot channels being broadcast at various time periods. 摘要： A first allocation of physical resources for uplink transmission is received over a downlink signaling channel. Data of a logical channel is received. A first block is transmitted over the first allocated physical resources in response to receipt of the data of the logical channel. A timer is initiated in response to transmission of the first block. In response to an expiration of the timer and not receiving a second allocation of physical resources, a first type of request from a plurality of types of requests is selected and the selected first type of request for the second allocation of physical resources is transmitted over an uplink signaling channel. The second allocation of physical resources is received in response to the transmitted first type of request. A second block is transmitted in response to the second allocation of physical resources over the second allocated physical resources.

摘要： The present invention involves apparatus and methods to perform wireless terminal transmission power control. The invention uses novel and highly efficient methods to: convey power control information, specify power control level adjustments, recognize power control information, limit interference in the power control signaling, and recognize corrupted power control signaling, thus conserving wireless terminal energy and minimizing power control signaling and associated bandwidth. Base stations send analog power control command signals, with a continuous range of control levels, to wireless terminals for transmission power adjustments. Power control signals include two components which can be used to convey information, e.g., power control commands, signal quality, device identity information. For zero power adjustment, the control component signal is not transmitted. For a non-zero adjustment, power control signals are sent using control ranges and limits, known to the base station and wireless terminal, with the scaling adjusted or synchronized based upon feedback information.
