    • A portable radio transmitter, especially a remote for a motor vehicle, has a voltage generator for generating an alternating voltage signal, a power-regulatable amplifier stage for amplifying the alternating voltage signal, and a power-regulating circuit with an operational amplifier. One input of the operational amplifier is supplied with a power setting voltage and other input is supplied through a rectifier stage with a feedback voltage signal. A transmitting antenna is supplied by the amplified alternating-voltage signal. The voltage signal generator includes an oscillator and the amplifier stage contains at least one bipolar transistor with its base connected to the oscillator, in whose collector-emitter current path a current adjustment element, controlled by the operational output, is wired. The rectifier stage includes a pair of diodes connected in parallel and in opposite directions and a capacitor and a resistor that are connected in parallel with one of the diodes.

    • This invention is a method of carrier suppression tuning of a wireless communication device (100) utilizing a quadrature modulator (104) in a transmission path (102). A power detector (128) and a processor (132) are coupled to the ends of the transmission path (102) to provide feedback to the quadrature modulator (104) and, thus, minimizes carrier feedthrough. For this invention, the transmission path (102) of the device (100) is enabled and “I” and “Q” DC offset values are set to default values. Then, output voltages from the power detector (128) are sampled and the “I” DC offset value is adjusted based on the sampled voltages. Similarly, output voltages from the power detector (128) are sampled and the “Q” DC offset value is adjusted based on the sampled voltages. These steps of sampling and adjusting for the “I” and “Q” DC offset values are repeated until the power detector (128) produces an output that is less than a predetermined threshold value.

    • A power amplifier system has a high frequency power amplifier circuit section employing source-grounded enhancement type n-channel MESFETs for receiving a drain bias voltage and a gate bias voltage of zero volts or positive low potentials supplied from a unipolar power supply, and amplifying a superposed input signal therewith to output an amplified signal indicative of a change in drain currents. When a forward direct current gate voltage is applied to a gate terminal with a source terminal coupled to ground, the DC gate voltage becomes greater than or equal to 0.65 volts, the DC gate voltage causing a gate current value per gate width of 100 micrometers to exceed 100 microamperes.

    • A method and apparatus for radio communication are presented. The method employs an antenna having multiple transceivers, each capable for receiving a part-signal of a signal received by the antenna. The phase and amplitude of the part-signals are modulated with a code that corresponds to the part-signal. The part-signals are then digitally processed using an analog-to-digital converter, and then demodulated with a demodulation code that is an inverse of the modulation code. The demodulated signal is then divided into separable part-signals which correspond to different reception patterns of the antenna.
