    • A brushless motor includes a motor housing, a stator, a positioning projection, and a groove. The stator is fitted in the motor housing and includes an outer core and teeth, which extend in the radial direction of the stator. A radially outward end of each tooth is coupled with the outer core. Each tooth has a predetermined width in the circumferential direction of the stator. The positioning projection is located on the inner circumferential surface of the motor housing. The groove is located on the outer circumferential surface of the outer core. The groove is arranged on a radial line that passes through the center of the width direction of one of the teeth. The positioning projection is fitted in the groove to determine the position of the stator with respect to the motor housing in the circumferential direction.

    • A pole piece assembly (28) for an electric motor (20) formed of stacked interlocked lamina (46) that define a first set of stacked lamina (50) and a second set of stacked lamina (52). Each of the lamina (46) of the first (50) and second (52) sets of stacked lamina include a hole (60) with the holes (60) being aligned with each other to define an internal cavity. A post (64) is disposed within the cavity with the post (64) having an outer surface (66) and a pair of bores (68) disposed therein. The pole piece assembly (28) is characterized by each of the lamina (46) of the second set of stacked lamina (52) further including a notch (74, 78) with the notch (74, 78) mating with the hole (60). The notches (74, 78) of the second set of stacked lamina (52) are aligned with each other to define a passageway into the internal cavity with the bore (68) of the post (64) being aligned with the passageway to expose the bore (68).

    • A DC brushless motor comprises a stator; a casing; a rotor and a cover. The magnet and the enhancing plate are locked by studs other than using glue agent. A block on the lower surface of the enhancing plate is embedded into a central hole of the magnet so as to support the magnet and cause that the rotary shaft will not con tact the magnet directly. A cover is extended with an inner sleeve. A groove seat is installed with a lower bearing and the inner sleeve is installed with a middle bearing and an upper bearing. The bearings are installed with respective enhancing pads. The rotary shaft of the rotor is installed with an annular enhancing flange and an annular inner flange which resist against the upper bearing. The inner flange resists against the enhancing pads of the middle bearing.

    • A rotor assembly for an alternator includes an electrical wire defining an excitation winding. A first pole piece and a second pole piece each have a generally circular body defining an axis of rotation and an outer radial periphery. A plurality of pole fingers are spaced radially about and extend axially from the outer radial periphery of each pole piece parallel to the axis of rotation. Each pole piece includes a plurality of mounting surfaces spaced radially about the outer radial periphery between the pole fingers. A plurality of permanent magnets are positioned on the mounting surfaces, each of the permanent magnets being secured to the pole pieces by a threaded fastener extending therethrough and engaging the pole pieces.

    • A shaft or shafts are connected to a rotor core of a dynamoelectric machine without the need for a central hole in the laminations of the core. The shaft is connected to the core by attaching the shaft to a rotor end plate (or forming the shaft and the end plate as a single unit) and connecting the end plate to the core at a distance away from the axis of the core. The rotor may have similar end plates at both ends, the end plates attached to each other and to the core by through studs or bolts that pass through holes in the laminations. The holes and the studs or bolts are evenly circumferentially spaced at a distance from the axis. The through studs or bolts are secured at either end, clamping the end plates with the rotor core between them. The rotor end plate provides support to the rotor end ring that forms part of the squirrel cage of the rotor core. The end plate includes a lip or other portion which restrains movement of the end ring in lateral and/or axial direction(s) as the rotor rotates. For example, the rotor may have a lip which is machined to be at or nearly in contact with the end ring when the rotor is at rest.
