    • The device comprises choke coils (6), each allocated to a phase and wound on a shared magnet core in the same direction and with the same number of turns. The choke coils (6) are connected in series on one phase line (3, 5) each between the converter (1) and the load (4) to power the multi-phase load (4). The load may, in particular, be a multi-phase asynchronous motor. The choke coils (6) and the magnet core may be arranged as the equivalent of a power supply transformer on the frequency and power of the converter (1) in order to smooth defects in the electromagnetic symmetry of the load (4), or as the equivalent (1) of a mains filter on the frequency and power of converter (1) ''spikes'' in order to cancel out these spikes on the phase (3) concerned. In this case each choke coil (6) has a central terminal (7) connected via a capacitor (11) to a reference terminal (12) leading to a reference pole for the internal d.c. power supply of the converter (1) in order to transform the spikes in the ratio -1:1 and apply the transformed spikes to the reference terminal (12). A further capacitor (13) is preferably connected in parallel with each choke coil (6) to set its resonant frequency. An additional coil may be fitted on the magnet core for use as the secondary winding of a power supply transformer.

    • The balancer is intended for use in a power supply unit to permit improvement of the balance in an electrical three-phase system, whereby the balancer functions for example as a filter and, when used in a measurement apparatus, to permit the formation of a stable reference point with regard to the amplitude, phase and frequency of electrical quantities in a three-phase system. The balancer is characterised specifically in that, for each phase in the three-phase system, it comprises a separate toroidal magnetic core (12, 14 and 16), on which are arranged at least two mutually electrically isolated windings (18, 20; 22, 24; and 26, 28), which are Z-connected.
