    • The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for depositing metal on a substrate. More particularly, one embodiment of the metal deposition cell comprising a cell base, an anode, and a cell top. The cell base at least partially defines an interior recess. The anode mounted within the interior recess to the cell base. The cell top is removably mounted to the cell base. In one embodiment, a method of removing a modular metal deposition cell from a deposition cell mount is provided. The modular metal deposition cell comprises a cell top and a cell bottom. The method comprises: unfastening a fastener that secures the cell top to the cell bottom, and also fastens the cell top and the cell bottom to the deposition cell mount. The cell top or the cell bottom are then removed from the deposition cell mount.

    • The present invention relates to a telecommunications system and method for connecting to a network and for routing data of a plurality of different data types between the network and subscriber terminals of the telecommunications system. The subscriber terminals are connectable to a central terminal of the telecommunications system via a transmission medium, the telecommunications system providing a number of communication channels arranged to utilize the transmission medium for transmission of data between the central terminal and the subscriber terminals. The telecommunications system comprises a transmitter having first transmission processing logic for employing a first transport mechanism to transmit data and second transmission processing logic for employing a second transport mechanism to transmit data. A switching element is then provided for routing data for transmission to either the first or second transmission processing logic dependent on first predetermined criteria, the first predetermined criteria comprising at least the data type of the data for transmission. In addition, a resource allocation logic is provided for determining based on second predetermined criteria which of the communication channels to allocate for use by the first transmission processing logic, and which of the communication channels to allocate for use by the second transmission processing logic. This approach provides a very flexible transmission mechanism for improving the efficiency of transmission of data through the telecommunications system.

    • A system and method are disclosed for routing telephone calls directed to a wireless unit located in the wireless network to a landline device located in the landline network. The system utilizes a location register in the form of a service control point (SCP) located in the landline network to store certain information pertaining to landline numbers and respective routing numbers associated with landline devices. The SCP is functionally coupled to a Visitors' Location Register (VLR) as well as to a landline network element that facilitates the routing of communications to both landline devices and over to the MTSO and its associated Home Location Register (HLR) in the wireless network. The system provides for the registering of the wireless unit with the landline network by the dialing of an administrative number from a landline device and causes the VLR in the landline network to directly communicate with the HLR in the wireless network to keep both the landline and the wireless networks up to date as to the registration status and specific routing for the various subscribers. The system is thereby able to route calls efficiently and to alleviate the tromboning effect that often occurs when calls are redirected from a wireless unit to a landline device.
