    • An isolator has a magnetic core of a plate shape placed within a direct current magnetic field and having an upper face perpendicular to the direction of the direct current magnetic field, and first to third central conductors overlapping other at an equal angle interval approximately in the central portion of the upper face of the magnetic core, and having one end connected to the ground. The other end of the first central conductor is an input terminal, and the other end of the second central conductor is an output terminal. At least the third central conductor is constructed by two parallel band-shaped conductors. One end of one band-shaped conductor is connected to the ground by a first resistor and a first capacitor. The other end of the other band-shaped conductor is connected to the ground by a second resistor and a second capacitor. The capacity value of the first capacitor and the capacity value of the second capacitor are different from each other.

    • A structure for a high power low IMD passive microwave device, mainly for automated placement. The structure includes substantially flat housing having slots and a cover having notches. Slots and notches form openings to snugly receive printed circuit boards (PCBs) having signal transmission lines on both sides. Also, on both sides of PCBs opposite to the signal lines, the ground planes are located. The passive device is disposed between the housing and the cover, and electrically connected to the signal transmission lines inside the structure that is totally closed and sturdy. Bottom surface of PCBs and that of the housing are coplanar. PCBs are reinforced on both their sides by supports extended from the housing. Such a structure provides homogeneous leads and best conditions for automated placement. Inductance in signal lines is well balanced by capacitance to ground planes that in combination with structurally homogeneous leads provides low IMD. Emittance of RF field from the high power passive device into environment is negligible due to totally closed structure.

The height of the top surface of each of the matching capacitor elements is lower than that of the top surface of the ferrite. Simultaneously, in at least one of the center electrodes disposed on the side surface of the ferrite, the edge thereof is located closer to the capacitor electrode of the corresponding matching capacitor element than the other edge thereof. Also, in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the height direction of the ferrite, the bottom surface of the one edge is located farther away from the capacitor electrode of the corresponding matching capacitor element than the top surface thereof.

    • A nonreciprocal circuit device includes conductive films that define a slot on the top of a magnetic member having ferrimagnetic characteristics. On the bottom of the magnetic member, other conductive films that define an opposing slot are formed. An external DC magnetic field is applied substantially parallel to the magnetic member and substantially perpendicular to the slots. Resistive films are formed alongside the slot on the top of the magnetic member. When a signal propagates in the direction from port #2 to port #1, the electromagnetic field of a planar dielectric line mode is localized in the direction of the resistive films. Electrical power is consumed by the resistive films, so that the signal is prevented from propagating. When the signal propagates in the direction from port #1 to port #2, no loss is caused by the resistive films. Therefore, the signal is transmitted with low loss.

    • A three-port nonreciprocal circuit device has a structure in which one end of a first center electrode is electrically connected to an input external terminal via an input port, and the other end thereof is electrically connected to a ground external terminal. One end of a second center electrode is electrically connected to an output external terminal via an output port. The second center electrode and a matching capacitor constitute an LC parallel resonator circuit. A series inductor is electrically connected between the LC parallel resonator circuit and the ground external terminal. A matching capacitor and a terminating resistor constitute a parallel RC circuit, which is electrically connected between the third port and ground.

A ferrite having a rectangle shape in plan view is placed on the coupling portion of the center conductors, and a magnetic assembly is constructed by folding the center conductors extending from the coupling portion outward so as to wrap the ferrite. At this time, the port portions of the center conductors extending from the coupling portion outward substantially line-symmetrically are formed asymmetrically with each other so as not to mutually interfere when these center conductors are folded toward the magnetic body.
