    • A movement 100 of a self-winding watch has a main plate 102, a train wheel bridge 104, a center wheel bridge 106, a third wheel bridge 107 and a transmission bridge 108. An oscillating weight 160 is rotatably attached to a third bridge 107. A first transmission intermediate gear 178a is structured to mesh with a first transmission gear 180a and oscillation weight pinion 176. An eccentric shaft-part 180d is provided on the first transmission wheel 180. A pawl lever 182 is assembled between the third wheel bridge 107 and the center wheel bridge 106. The pawl lever 182 has a guide hole 182a rotatably assembled on the eccentric shaft part 180d. The eccentric motion of pawl lever 182 winds up a spiral spring.

    • To provide a hand motion irregularity suppressed timepiece whose ability has been improved. As to a spring having a flat portion and a bent portion, the flat portion is disposed between a second chronograph wheel and a center wheel, and the bent portion is sandwiched and supported under a pressurized state by a train wheel bridge and a bottom plate. By this, the spring portion prevents a hand motion irregularity of the second chronograph wheel by the fact that the second chronograph wheel is pressure-contacted with the train wheel bridge. Further, by forming a gap between the second chronograph wheel and the center wheel, an accompanying rotation between the second center wheel and the center wheel is prevented.

    • An apparatus for winding self-winding watches is described that includes a watch carrier having an axis of rotation of 90° above horizontal and a center of gravity offset from the axis of rotation in a given direction, the watch carrier being adapted to support a watch with the plane of the watch face being perpendicular to the axis of rotation; and a drive means for rotating the carrier about the axis until the given direction is above the axis, whereupon the carrier is released to freely rotate about the axis in an oscillating motion to wind the watch.
