摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a photographic material by an easy method which minimizes a discharged liquid and reliably removes oxidizable organic chemicals such as a color developing agent and peroxides which may alter an image with the lapse of time. SOLUTION: In the method for forming a photographic image in an imagewise exposed photographic material including one or more silver halide emulsion layers, the material is developed with a developing solution containing a silver halide developing agent, a solution of a sulfite compound which reacts with the oxidized developing agent and prevents further progress of development is applied to the surface of the developed material and then a solution of an oxidizing agent which oxidizes the residual developing agent is applied to the surface of the developed material. The sulfite compound is present in an amount enough to react with all of the oxidized developing agent and the sulfite solution and the oxidizing agent solution are applied to the material by a method other than dipping in a tank.

The pretreated material is subjected to conventional development within 1min. Thus, an image with high Dm, high silver covering power and high film strength is obtd. using a small amount of silver.

摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture an optical recording medium with high sensitivity usable for reflection reading by exposing a silver halide emuslion layer on a support to light modulated by a signal to form a latent image and carrying out development so as to provide high reflectance. CONSTITUTION:Silver halide emulsion layer 12 is stuck to support 10 with dimensional and thermal stabilities, and protective layer 14 is laid on layer 12 as required. In order to record information or data, layer 12 is exposed with low-power laser to form a latent image. Development is carried out successively so that the resulting bright silver image corresponding to the recorded signal assumes >=10% optical reflectance. Information can be reproduced from this recording medium by a known method. The low-power laser is essentially used to illuminate part of the recording medium.
