    • A photographic imaging element is disclosed which comprises a support having on one side thereof at least one silver halide emulsion layer and having, in order, on the opposite side thereof an electrically-conductive layer coated from a coating composition comprising a polythiophene/polyanion composition containing a polythiophene with conjugated polymer backbone component and a polymeric polyanion component, and a protective topcoat comprised of a polyurethane binder which has a tensile elongation to break of at least 50% and a Young's modulus measured at 2% elongation of at least 50000 lb/in ; wherein the electrical resistivity of the electrically-conductive layer before photographic processing is less than 2 x 10 OMEGA / &squ& , after photographic processing is between 1 x 10 OMEGA / &squ& and 1 x 10 OMEGA / &squ& , and increases by at least one order of magnitude as a result of photographic processing. Photographic imaging elements of the invention effectively minimize both raw (pre-photographic processing) static marking and processed (after photographic processing) photographic element sticking caused by the accumulation of electrostatic charges, and additionally have excellent resistance to scratch and abrasion.

The agent may be applied before exposure (e.g. during manufacture) or incorporated in the processing composition; it may also be applied to the support, preferably in a binder, and is preferably a wax, fat, fatty acid or particulate polyfluorocarbon. In an example, a film unit comprising, in order, a gelatine subbed cellulose triacetate base, a layer of deacetylated chitin and CuS, a layer of hardened silver halide emulsion containing gelatine and a phthalic anhydride/gelatine derivative as colloid, and another layer of deacetylated chilin and CuS, either contains 1Á particles of fluorinated copoly (ethylene/propylene) in the outer layer or is processed in an aqueous solution of Na 2 S 2 O 3 , 2, 6-dimethylhydroquinone, NaOH, Na 2 SO 3 and 6-nitrobenzimidazole in which is dispersed paraffin wax in CCl 4 .
