    • A film winder and camera. The film winder has a film transport adapted to move film in two opposed directions in response to rotational inputs in forward and reverse directions. An output unit mechanically engages the film transport. The output unit defines an axis of rotation. An outer winder is coaxial with the output unit. The outer winder is rotatable about the axis in first and second directions of rotation relative to the body. An inner winder is nested in the outer winder. The inner winder is coaxial with the output unit. The inner winder is rotatable about the axis in the first and second directions of rotation independent of the outer winder. Outer and inner clutches are disposed between respective winders and the output unit. The outer clutch couples the outer winder to the output unit during rotation of the outer winder relative to the body in the first direction of rotation. The outer clutch decouples the outer winder from the output unit during rotation of the outer winder relative to the body in the second direction of rotation. The inner clutch couples the inner winder to the output unit during rotation of the inner winder in the second direction of rotation. The inner clutch decouples the inner winder from the output unit during rotation of the inner winder in the first direction of rotation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the thumb of a right hand naturally abut on a finger putting part on the side surface of a winding knob and to perform smooth winding operation by inclining and arranging the winding knob so that the finger putting part positioned on the back surface side may be positioned at an upper part than the finger putting part positioned on the front surface side on the winding knob. SOLUTION: A saw-toothed finger putting part 1c is provided on the side surface of a winding knob 1. Since a part of the knob 1 projects to the back surface side from and aperture part 4a provided on a rear cover 4, the right thumb 10 abuts on the part 1c of the knob 1 to wind the knob 1. Then, the rotation of the knob 1 is transmitted to an external spur gear 3a of a winding shaft 3 from an internal spur gear 1b as the knob 1 is rotated and further a spool S is rotated through an engaging part 3b to wind up an exposed film. Since the knob 1 is provided to be inclined so that the part 1c positioned on the back surface side may be positioned at an upper part than the part 1c positioned on the front surface side on the knob 1 in such a way, the thumb 10 of the right hand is naturally put on the part 1c.
