A wedge breech block 4 for a gun having a replaceable ring packing 7 fitted in a recess 6 in the rear of the barrel 2 is provided with a locking member 9 which is displaceable in the breech block 4 parallel to the axis of the barrel. When the breech block 4 is being closed and if the ring packing 7 is missing, the locking member is urged into the recess 6 to prevent further movement of the breech block. In the construction shown, the locking member 9 is spring- loadedly disposed within a sleeve 10 which is secured to the breech block 4 by a screw bolt 23. The locking member 9 is retracted from its locking position by screwing a tool into a socket 19 in its outer end and the sleeve 10 is urged from the breech block by screwing a screw bolt through a threaded bore 21 such that the forward end of the screw bolt engages a face of the breech block and exerts a force thereon. The threads in the blocking member, in the bore 21 and in the breech block 4 match each other.

摘要： The invention relates to a breech wedge for artillery cannon, of a type that includes means for supporting a primer-cartridge magazine that is driven in translation and rotation under the control of an assembly consisting of a rack and pinion. This first pinion is mounted on a shaft supporting a second pinion, which cooperates with a second rack integral with a fork sliding on the wedge. A control lever pivots on the breech sleeve and supports a roller, which cooperates with a groove in the fork in such a way as to slide the fork on the breech wedge. A second roller cooperates with a groove in the wedge in such a way as to cause the wedge to slide on the breech sleeve.

摘要： A gun breech mechanism has a barrel formed with a backwardly open shell chamber, a breech block displaceable into a position rearwardly closing the chamber, and a seal ring between the block and the barrel and having an inner face exposed in the chamber and an outer face lying against the block and barrel. A passage opens at the outer seal-ring face for detecting thereat a gas pressure in excess of a predetermined superatmospheric pressure and a device is provided for generating an alarm signal when such excess pressure is detected. A guide bore formed in the block has an end into which the passage opens and an indicating element having an end exposed at the bore end and slidable in the bore between an inner position with its element end close to the passage and an outer position spaced therefrom. Thus pressurized gas can flow through the passage from the outer seal-ring face to the bore. A spring urges the indicating element inward toward the bore end, that is into the inner position. In addition in the inner position the element is at most flush with a surface of the breech and in the outer position it projects from the surface of the breech.
