    • An automatic bullet charger for ball cartridges of a recoilless firearm is enabled to be recoilless by the provision of a group of parts (B) which moves in the opposite direction to the group of parts (A) of the charger which is moved by the gases produced by the combustion of the cartridge (13) on the same line of operation (4) as the group (A), substantially equalizing the total weights (M1), (M2) of the groups (A), (B) and making zero the resultant of the forces (F1), (F2) received by the firearm body (1) when the groups (A), (B) move. This charger can be utilized as a charger for a recoilless automatic machine gun, a hunting gun, a large rivetting gun or similar small or large sized recoilless guns.

    • An open-framework receiver cannon (10) comprises a barrel (12) and a breech ring (20) mounting the barrel. Intermediate regions of two elongate, rigid tubular support members (14, 16) are received through opposite sides of the ring (20) with longitudinal axes parallel to, equally spaced to sides of, and coplanar with, a barrel bore axis (52). Forward ends of the members (14, 16) are rigidly interconnected with the barrel (12) by a barrel support (22); rearward ends of the members are rigidly interconnected by a detachable recoil buffer (18). Disposed in the members (14, 16) are drive springs (192) for driving an associated bolt assembly (26) forwardly on unsearing, recoil apparatus (46) for causing recoil of a bolt carrier (152) in response to firing to enable unlocking of a bolt (154) from the breech (20) and a plurality of inertia weights (270) for reducing bolt carrier bounce from the breech block (20) on forward impact. Recoil cylinders (28, 30), containing a number of springs (300, 302), are mounted around the members (14, 16).

    • Machine gun comprising a barrel (6) firmly mounted in a housing (4) and a locking unit (50) guided so as to move in the housing, said unit being preloaded by a pressure spring (52) into its extreme forward position and movable into its extreme rear position by compressed gas. The locking unit (50) is designed with an L-shape having a locking arm (56) behind the barrel (6) and a compensation arm (54) located above the barrel. The force of the spring (52) in contact with the mass of the locking unit (50) is calculated so as to limit its return travel to a shorter distance and the free length of the compensation arm (54). The mass of the locking arm (56) and that of the compensation arm (54) are matched to one another so that the center of mass of the locking unit (50) is located in the region of the intersection line between the front face of the locking bar (56) and the lower face of the compensation arm (54).

    • A breechblock buffer serves for catching the recoiling breechblock following the firing of a cartridge. This breechblock buffer comprises a buffer piston and a compressible liquid. With the heretofore known breechblock buffers there is provided a container housing a compressed gas. The invention contemplates eliminating the need for such container. Instead of a gas container there is provided a packet or set of plate springs serving as an elastic structure. Furthermore, the breechblock buffer possesses a recoil buffer device. For guiding and sealing the buffer piston, a guide ring is arranged between two sealing rings.
