    • For supporting the tubes (1) in a tube heat exchanger there is provided a modular tube sheet segment adapted to fit around one tube and provided with support surfaces for engagement with similar support surfaces of adjacent segments. The outer dimensions and shape of the segment are adapted to precisely provide the desired axis spacing and the desired tube arrangement upon mutual engagement among uniformly shaped segments. Together the segments provide a sheet (12) which meets all the functional requirements of a tube support sheet. The invention further provides a heat exchanger comprising a tube bundle which is put together by arranging tubes with attached segments individually or in layers, and it provides a method of manufacturing a tube bundle which may form part of a heat exchanger.

    • The present invention suggests that a grid-shaped spreader be used for guiding and holding the branch pipes of a tube nest, especially in steam generators. The grid bar (1, 2) ends are fitted in slots provided on a single-piece central ring (3) which is surrounded on three sides by a C-shaped outer ring - seen in cross-section - with salient cross members (10), one in the upper part and one in the lower part. Each cross member is turned to the central ring (3) and engages in a groove (9) located opposite it in a front portion of said central ring (3) and in the notches provided in the grid bars (1, 2). The inventive spreader is intended to be placed mainly in steam generators as used in pressurized water reactor plants.

    • Heat exchanger comprising: a group of parallel metal pipes (2), located at mutual distance through which a first heat exchanging medium can flow, which pipes can be placed into heat exchanging contact with a second heat exchanging medium via their outer surfaces; positioning means (4, 5) for holding these pipes in a mutual position; and supporting means (11, 12) for supporting the group of pipes and the positioning means. The heat exchanger according to the invention has for this purpose the feature that the supporting means comprise: at least one first plate (11, 12), with holes for passage of the pipes with clearance; a second plate (4, 5), which co-acts with this first plate and which is fixedly coupled to the group of pipes; at least one pin (10), extending in longitudinal direction of the pipes (2) and connected to one of the plate (11, 12), which pin (10) is slidable in a hole (8) arranged in the other plate (4, 5) such that when changes occur in the length of the pipes (2) as a result of temperature changes, the relative axial position of the two plates (4, 5) can vary.
