    • A cooler for an electronic device of the present invention is provided with a heatsink and a cross flow blower with an electric motor. The heatsink comprises a base and heat exchanging means made as flat disks, fins or flat plates. The base provides thermal contact with the electronic device and the heat exchanging means. The cross flow blower comprises a drum type impeller with an axis of rotation substantially normal to the base. The flat disks substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation and located inside of the drum type impeller. The fins or flat plates substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation and located outside of said drum type impeller. The heatsink further comprises heat-spreading means that provide thermal contact between the base and the flat disks and flat plates. The heat-spreading means may be heat-pipes.

The ceiling panel structure (10; 310) is adapted to be mounted on the ceiling surface (201) at an outside of the air-conditioning apparatus (200) and has a deflection induction portion (47; 347) substantially rigid against the airflow to deflect a part (S1, S2) of the conditioning air, having been blown out through the air-outlet (211) of the air-conditioning apparatus (200), back to the room air-inlet (210). The ceiling panel structure (10; 310) comprises, typically, a base member (20; 320) mounted on the ceiling (201) and a cover member (40; 340) attached to the base member (20; 320) and having portions such as the deflection induction portion (47; 347).

    • To reduce noise caused by exhausted cooling air as well as to maintain a necessary amount of cooling air of a cooling fan. A cooling fan is positioned behind a radiator. A shroud surrounds an impeller coupled to a motor and a rotating shaft. The shroud has an inlet and an outlet in the shape of a bell mouth. The bell mouth shaped inlet has its front edge spaced from the rear surface of the radiator by a clearance D, and forms a space around its front peripheral edge. A space is formed via the space, and opens around the periphery of the shroud. The ratio A:B is 1:3 to 5, preferably approximately 1:4, where A denotes a difference between maximum and minimum diameters of the bell mouth shaped outlet of the shroud, and B notes a length of the shroud.
