    • An overhead light fixture including a housing with top and bottom walls and sidewalls forming a substantially enclosed space, power-related components and a lamp-mounting socket. The housing is in two pieces—a top member forming the top wall and downwardly-extending sidewall portions and a bottom member forming the bottom wall and upwardly-extending sidewall portions to complete the sidewalls.     • An improved lensed fluorescent troffer lighting fixture intended for ceiling mounting and particularly for recessed mounting to a suspended ceiling grid within a shallow plenum, the embodiments of the fixture having dimensions, particularly depth-wise dimensions, which allow installation within the confines of reduced plenums while maintaining fixture quality and retaining desirable characteristics such as minimal lamp image. The present lensed troffers can be manufactured at a high assembly rate due to the ability to snap together on an assembly line the various components of the fixture without the use of separate fasteners. The lensed troffers of the invention are particularly configured for use with T8 fluorescent lamping and low profile electronic ballast. The configurations of the several embodiments of the present lensed troffer are chosen to fit within a shipping box shaped in a manner to allow maximum stacking efficiency and to maximize the number of fixtures which can be shipped within conventional volumes encountered in available transport vehicles.

    • There are three different embodiments of lamp assemblies according to this invention that can be exposed to forms of moisture and still be protected against a potentiality of short-circuiting. The first embodiment has the lamp shade oriented below a horizontal plane. The lamp shade is secured to a base with an o-ring mounted there between, and this secured connection-is covered by a base cap. The base cap and o-ring prevent water from entering the lamp shade at the connection with the base, and the orientation of the entire assembly below the horizontal plane prevents water from entering the open end of the lamp shade. The second embodiment has the lamp shade resting in a base cap and the socket and base of the electrical components are arranged in the fixture such that the top of the socket and base rise above the top edge of the base cap. The arrangement of the socket and base above the top edge of the base cap allows for accumulated precipitation to run-over the edge before reaching the level of the base or socket. The third embodiment has a lamp shade with a tube inside which is closed on the top end and open on the bottom end. The lamp shade and tube rest in the base cap and contain the base and socket. The closed tube prevents water from reaching the electrical components. The base cap incorporates a drainage hole in the bottom allowing accumulated water to drain out of the bottom.

    • An adaptable landscape light designed to be used with ½ inch or 3-inch diameter poles. The light includes a light housing with a cylindrical-shaped lower base. Formed on the lower base is a downward extending cavity. Three downward extending tabs are radially and equally spaced apart around the lower base. Each tab includes a threaded bore through which a threaded connector may be selectively attached. Included with the light is a conical-shaped adaptor with a cylindrical-shaped upper section designed to fit into the downward extending cavity formed inside the lower base. Formed on the adaptor is a narrow, centrally aligned neck member with a longitudinally aligned threaded bore formed therein. Formed on the sidewalls of the upper cylindrical section are threaded bores which are aligned with the threaded bores formed on the tabs or sidewalls of the lower base. During use, the upper cylindrical section is inserted into the lower cavity and attached thereto via the threaded connectors extended through the bores formed on the tabs and upper cylindrical section. A narrow, complementary-shaped threaded conduit may be connected to the neck member. If a wide conduit is desired, the adaptor is removed so that the wide conduit may be directly attached to the lower base.

    • A fluorescent lamp assembly and method of making the same for enclosing a lamp with a protective cover guard and attaching the cover guard to a base of the lamp. The cover guard is placed over and encloses the lamp and extends partially over the lamp base. A rigid metal or plastic ring is placed over the cover guard at a location where the guard extends over the lamp base and has a smaller diameter than the base. In this manner, the ring exerts a compressive force on the cover guard and base when assembled. The cover guard is subsequently sealed to the lamp base. Another variation of the invention uses a plastic or metal ring that is positioned over the lamp base. The ring has an annular cavity that accepts an end of the cover guard. The end of the cover guard is then secured in the annular cavity.

    • An apparatus for mounting and supporting fixtures and electrical devices in an outdoor setting. The apparatus includes an elongated body having side walls and a closed top. The top of the body includes an aperture and an electrically conductive bushing leading into a junction box that meets electrical codes. Integral radial projections extend from the lower portion of the elongated body for anchoring the apparatus to the ground. A wide cable entryway is provided in the lower portion to accept electrical feed cables. The cables are pulled into the junction box and the lower portion of the body buried in the ground. A fixture may be mounted to the bushing and an electrical device mounted in the junction box. After wiring connections are completed within the box and a cover or face plate inserted over the electrical device, the apparatus provides a stable, weatherproof platform for mounting fixtures and electrical devices in an outdoor setting.
