    • A constant velocity joint is provided with an outer part, in the inner surface of which tracks are provided, an inner part, on the outer surface of which corresponding tracks are provided, and with balls in a pivotable cage located in the space between the outer part and the inner part. Taking as a basis the particular axial displacement, caused by the torque, of the outer part and the inner part in relation to the cage, this displacement depending mainly on the amount of the respective axial clearances of the pairs of centering surfaces and/or on the brinelling of the window support surfaces by the balls in the running-in phase and also on the elastic flexibility of the parts, the running-in wear and the thermal expansion. The outer surface of the inner part and the inner surface of the cage or the inner surface of the outer part and the outer surface of the cage have clearance therebetween so that the inner or outer part is axial displaced relative to the cage, toward one side, whereby the tracks of the inner part do not run as mirror images to the tracks of the outer part in relation to the ball plane.

    • A device for elastic interconnection of two rotatable shafts consisting of a first sleeve intended to be connected to a first shaft end. The sleeve has a radial flange and a cylindrical, annular portion connected to the periphery of the flange. A second sleeve is intended to be connected to a second shaft end and to be surrounded by said cylindrical portion. A number of elastically deformable spherical elements are arranged in opposing recesses in said second sleeve and cylindrical portion and distributed around a shaft end. The recesses in the cylindrical portion are arranged in the end surfaces of plugs and provided with external threads. The plugs by being turned are displaceable in threaded bores provided radially in the wall of the cylindrical part. The outer end surfaces of the plugs are provided with diametrical grooves and the cylindrical portion is provided with a diametrical groove. The diametrical grooves and the peripheral grooves define an annular groove. A locking ring is disposed in the annular groove to lock all the plugs in a desired position.

    • A constant velocity universal joint comprises an outer member having an inner partial concave spherical surface with a plurality of lengthwise grooves therein, an inner member inserted in the outer member and having an outer partial convex spherical surface with a plurality of lengthwise grooves therein, a plurality of balls retained in corresponding opposed pairs of the grooves of the two members and serving to transmit a torque between the two members, and a cage disposed between the two members for receiving the balls. The bottoms of the grooves of the two members are arcuate, the grooves of each member having a respective arc center. The arc centers are offset by substantially equal amounts to opposite sides of the central plane of the joint, and the spherical centers of the inner and outer spherical surfaces are also offset by substantially equal amounts to opposite sides of the central plane. The amount of offset of the spherical centers is smaller than that of the arc centers, with both offsets being smaller than the distance between the central plane of the joint and the end face of the outer member.

    • An overload release clutch to be mounted between rotary drive and driven members includes a recess formed on one member and a hole formed on the other member at a position axially corresponding to the recess, the recess being arcuate in the circumferential direction and extending in the axial direction. A transmission roller having a crowned peripheral surface, extending in the axial direction and having a tapered surface at least one end, is fitted in the hole so as to be rotatable on its axis and movable along the radial direction. The roller is normally urged by pressure means radially inward and engages with the recess for transmitting the rotational movement of the drive member to the driven member. When an overload torque is applied, the pressure means permits the roller to move radially outward to disengage from the recess.
