摘要： Disclosed are liquid hydrocarbon fuel concentrates, including low sulfur liquid hydrocarbon fuel concentrates containing at least 5,000 ppm boric acid suspended in the liquid hydrocarbon fuel. The liquid hydrocarbon fuels include gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, jet fuel, boat or motorcycle fuel. Also disclosed are liquid hydrocarbon fuels compositions formed by diluting the concentrate to form compositions containing only from about 10 ppm to about 50,000 ppm boric acid. Also disclosed are liquid hydrocarbon fuel compositions formed of a reaction product of boric acid having a particle size of about 65 microns or less, associated with a liquid hydrocarbon fuel having a monomer or prepolymer chemically grafted thereon.

摘要： A fuel composition for fuel cells includes a polar solvent such as water, a first portion of a first fuel dissolved in the solvent at a saturated concentration, and a second portion of the first fuel suspended in the solvent to serve as a reservoir of fuel as the dissolved portion is consumed. Preferably, the first fuel is a hydride such as NaBH4. Optionally, the fuel composition also includes a second fuel such as an alcohol that also controls the solubility of the first fuel in the solvent, inhibits decomposition of the first fuel and stabilizes the suspension. Preferably, the fuel composition also includes an additive such as an alkali for stabilizing the first fuel.

摘要： The addition of a magnesium compound to an ash bearing fuel results in a reduction in the formation of deposits in the turbine and extending the interval between turbine washes when burning the ash bearing fuel in a turbine compared to burning the ash bearing fuel in a turbine without the addition of a magnesium compound. The additive is desirably effective with ash bearing fuel having less than 0.5 ppm vanadium by weight, less than 1 ppm sodium and potassium combined by weight, and greater than about 25 ppm ash by weight or greater than 2 ppm calcium by weight. The additive is blended with the ash bearing fuel to give a mass ratio of magnesium to ash of between about 0.5 to 1 and about 3 to 1, and desirably about 1 to 1 on a mass basis after mixing.
