    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the optical deterioration at the time of storage extending to a long period of time by a method wherein an organic coloring matter for recording by a heat mode, and a naphthoquinone derivative having an absorption spectrum curve which crosses the absorption spectrum curve of the organic coloring matter, and having a maximum absorption wavelength on a specified wavelength side are jointly used. SOLUTION: This information recording medium is constituted in such a manner that a light interfering layer containing a coloring matter layer is provided on a base plate, and at the same time, the coloring matter layer contains an organic coloring matter for recording by a heat mode, and also, the light interfering layer contains a naphthoquinone derivative which is an organic metallic coloring matter compound containing a metal or a metallic ion. Then, the absorption spectrum curve of the organic coloring matter for recording and the absorption spectrum curve of the organic metallic coloring matter compound cross, and also, the organic metallic coloring matter compound has a maximum absorption wavelength on a longer wavelength side than the maximum absorption wavelength of the organic coloring matter for recording. As concrete examples for the coloring matter for recording by a heat mode, there are a cyanine coloring matter, a phthalocyanine coloring matter, and an azo metallic compound coloring matter or the like.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to use a laser beam obtained from a semiconductor layer for recording and regenerating by allowing a specific naphthol quinone derivative to be contained in a recording layer as a light absorber. CONSTITUTION:The formula shows a naphthol quinone dyestuff, wherein R , R and R respectively independently represent a straight chain, a branched alkyl radical or a hydrogen atom, and the total number of carbon atoms contained in R , R and R is 4-20. X represents an oxygen atom or sulfur atom. For a support it is preferable to use a transparent plastic substrate, and more preferable are injection-molded polymethyl methacrylate and injection- molded polycarbonate resin substrates which are pre-grooved when injection- molded. Moreover, a 2P pre-grooved resin substrate is especially desirable since it is available at a relatively low price. A compound shown in the formula (I) may be a solution dissolved in a solvent, and such a solvent may be directly applied to a support, i.e. a substrate, or may be used together with a binder. A binder suitable for this purpose is selected from polyester and various types of acrylic resins.
