摘要： A flame retardant composition is provided containing (a) an aromatic polycarbonate resin, (b) a rubber modified graft copolymer, (c) a vinyl aromatic-unsaturated nitrile rigid copolymer, (d) a phosphate and (e) a tetrafluoroethylene polymer. The compositions contain elevated rubber loadings and/or utilize low molecular weight polycarbonate and/or low molecular weight vinyl aromatic-vinyl cyanide rigid copolymer. The composition exhibits enhanced retention of izod impact properties upon exposure to heat and humidity. The compositions are useful for making pellets which are stored and/or shipped in hot humid conditions, and which are then utilized for making molded business machine housings.

摘要： The invention relates to plastic pallets that pass the Underwriters Laboratory UL 2335 protocol for pallets wherein said pallets comprises at least one resin selected from the group consisting of: (a) polyphenylene ether resin and blends containing polyphenylene ether resin, (b) polycarbonate resin and blends containing polycarbonate resin, (c) vinyl aromatic graft copolymer resin; (d) polyetherimide resin and blends containing polyetherimide resin, and (e) thermosetting resins. In a preferred embodiment, the plastic pallet has an open deck design. The invention also relates to a method to make pallets that pass the UL 2335 protocol.

摘要： A flameproof thermoplastic resin composition is substantially free of phenolic resin, red phosphorous and silicone resin and comprises (A) about 40-95 parts by weight of a rubber modified styrene-containing resin comprising (a1) about 20-95% by weight of a styrene-containing graft copolymer resin containing about 19-50% by weight of acrylonitrile in the copolymer excluding rubber and (a2) about 5-80% by weight of a styrene-containing copolymer containing about 19-50% by weight of acrylonitrile; (B) about 5-60 parts by weight of a polyphenylene ether resin; (C) about 2-40 parts by weight of a compatabilizer comprising (c1) a styrene-containing copolymer containing about 5-18% by weight of acrylonitrile in the copolymer per 100 parts by weight of the sum of (A) and (B) or (c2) a styrene-containing graft copolymer having up to about 60% by weight of rubber wherein the compatabilizer contains about 5-18% by weight of acrylonitrile in the copolymer excluding rubber, per 100 parts by weight of the sum of (A) and (B); and (D) about 5-30 parts by weight of an aromatic phosphoric acid ester per 100 parts by weight of the sum of (A) and (B). The physical properties and flame retardance of the resin compositions according to the present invention are adversely affected by the presence of 3% or more by weight of polycarbonate based on the total weight of the composition.

The method can optionally include the introduction of low melting additives into the polymer This method allows for the production of polymer masterbatchs from a wide variety of liquid additives that can contain upwards of 50% by weight active components. Such masterbatches can be a particularly useful technique for introducing biocides and/or antimicrobials into polymeric materials.
