摘要： Carboxylic acids containing omega , ( omega - 1)-dihydroxy carboxylic acid as a chief ingredient are produced by a method wherein omega , ( omega -1)-dihydroxy carboxylic acid-producing microorganism which belongs to Candida genus is cultured with alpha-olefins having 12 to 18 carbon atoms in a medium, or cells of said microorganism which has been grown in advance is allowed to react on alpha- olefins having 12 to 18 carbon atoms as substrate thereby forming carboxylic acids having omega , ( omega -1)-dihydroxy carboxylic acid as a chief ingredient and recovering the carboxylic acids from the broth.

摘要： Hydroxy-acid derivs. of formula (I), their 1-4C alkyl esters, and their base-addn. salts are new. In the formula, one of R' and R2 is H and the other is H, 1-6C alkyl, or phenyl opt. substd. by halogen, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, NO2, amino or 1-4C alkanoylamino; one of R3 and R4 is H and the other is H or 1-4C alkyl; and either R5 is H, R6 is OH and R7 + R8 is a direct bond, or R5 + R6 is a direct bond, R7 is H and R8 is OH. (I) have ulcer-healing properties. In humans, dosage is 50-500 mg. p.o., 4 times per day. Specific cpds. (I) include 3 beta-methyl-5-(1 beta-hydroxypentyl)-2-oxo-tetrahydrofuran-4 alpha-yl-carboxylic acid. prepd. by cyclising 2 beta-methyl-3 alpha-carboxy-non-4-cis-enoic acid with H2O2 in formic acid.

摘要： Phenylpentanoic acid derivs. of formula (I) and their salts are new. In the formula, one of R1 and R2 is H and the other is phenyl carrying 1 or 2 substituents selected from halogen, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, NO2, amino and 1-4C alkanoylamino; one of R3 and R4 is H and the other is H or 1-4C alkyl; R5 is H and R6 is OH or R5 +R6 is a direct bond; and R7 is H and R8 is OH or R7 + R8 is a direct bond. (I) have ulcer-healing activity. For treating humans and animals, they are administered in a daily oral or subcutaneous dosage of up to 50 (pref. 1-10) mg/kg. Specific cpds. (I) include (+)-6alpha-(p-nitrophenyl)3, 3a alpha, 6, 6a alpha-tetrahydrofuran 3, 4-b furan-2,4-dione. In an example, this is prepd. by nitration of (+)-6alpha-phenyl-3, 3a alpha, 6, 6a alpha-tetrahydrofuro 3, 4-b furan-2,4-dione with KNO3/H2SO4.

摘要： 1414612 3-Keto-glutaric acid MONT EDISON SpA 12 June 1974 [20 June 1973] 26085/74 Heading C2C In the preparation of 3-keto-glutaric acid by carboxylation of acetone in the presence of an alkali metal phenate and an alkyl ether of a polyethylene glycol R-O-(-CH 2 -CH 2 -O-)- n R, where R is alkyl 1-4 C, and n an integer 1-10, the reaction mixture is degassed from carbon dioxide dissolved and/or complexed with the alkali metal phenate by the addition of at least a stoichiometric quantity of phenol, under vacuum. The aqueous solution is acidified and extracted with diethyl ether to obtain the acid. Tetrapolyethylene glycol in which n is 4 and the R is methyl, is preferred. Citric acid may be prepared by cyanuration of the sodium salt, hydrolysis of the cyanhydrin and neutralization followed by extraction and crystallization.
