摘要： The performance of an endothermic catalytic dehydrogenation process is increased without requiring additional catalyst regeneration and reheat air flow and compression by partially prereacting the preheated hydrocarbon feed and then reheating the partially dehydrogenated effluent from the prereactor to the same hydrocarbon preheat temperature prior to the main catalytic reactor. The preferable source of the heat for reheating is the effluent air from the reheat and regeneration of the catalyst in the main reactor. This same effluent air is used to regenerate the catalyst in the prereactor as needed.

摘要： A new family of oxidative dehydrogenation catalysts having MCrAlY supports can be used in the production of olefins. Olefins are produced by heating a feed stream comprising at least an alkane and an oxidant to a temperature between 25° C. and 800° C.; contacting the feed stream with a catalyst comprising an MCrAlY structure and, optionally, a Group VIII promoter metal coating, wherein M is a base metal, or combination of base metals; and maintaining a contact time of the alkane with the catalyst of less than 200 milliseconds under conditions sufficient to achieve oxidative dehydrogenation of the alkane. M may comprise a metal selected from the group consisting of Group IB-VIIB metals, Group IIIA-VA metals, lanthanide metals, iron, cobalt, nickel, and combinations thereof. More particularly, M may comprise a metal selected from the group consisting Tb, Sm, Pr, Fe, Ni, Co, and combinations thereof.

摘要： Catalysts and method for alkane dehydrogenation are disclosed. The catalysts of the invention generally comprise (i) nickel or a nickel-containing compound and (ii) at least one or more of titanium (Ti), tantalum (Ta), niobium (Nb), hafnium (Hf), tungsten (W), yttrium (Y), zinc (Zn), zirconium (Zr), or aluminum (Al), or a compound containing one or more such element(s). In preferred embodiments, the catalyst is a supported catalyst, the alkane or substituted alkane is selected from the group consisting of ethane, propane, isobutane, butane and ethyl chloride, molecular oxygen is co-fed with the alkane or substituted alkane to a reaction maintained at a temperature ranging from about 250° C. and about 350° C., and the ethane is oxidatively dehydrogenated to form the corresponding alkene with an alkene conversion of at least about 10% and an alkene selectivity of at least about 70%.

A so-called reaction phase and a catalyst-regenerating phase are carried out in the tubes of the chamber. The tubes are heated by appropriate radiant heating means 6, arranged in layers substantially perpendicular to the tubes. These layers heat a first part of the tubes (at the feed side) with a heat flux greater than the mean heat flux of the chamber and a second, subsequent part with a mean flux no more than equal to the mean heat flux, so that the isothermicity of the catalyst is substantially maintained, using appropriate control means.

The catalysts comprise a mixture of metal oxides having as an important component nickel oxide (NiO), which give high conversion and selectivity in the process. For example, the catalyst can be used to make ethylene by contacting it with a gas mixture containing ethane and oxygen. The gas mixture may optionally contain ethylene, an inert diluent such as nitrogen, or both ethylene and an inert diluent.

摘要： The present invention provides methods for manufacturing olefins such as ethylene and propylene from lower alkanes, that is, methane, ethane and/or propane, by oxidative dehydrogenation at elevated pressure. The olefins are selectively recovered from unconverted lower alkane feed and reaction byproducts by using a complexation separation, such as an absorption separation that uses aqueous silver nitrate as the complexation agent. Catalysts are used that give high selectivity for oxidative dehydrogenation of lower alkanes to olefins at elevated pressure, such as a nonstoichiometric rare earth oxycarbonate catalyst.

摘要： The present invention provides a catalyst for the oxidative dehydrogenation of a lower hydrocarbon to form at least one higher hydrocarbon and/or lower olefin. In one embodiment, the catalyst includes a nonstoichiometric rare earth oxycarbonate of the formula MXCYOZ having a disordered and/or defect structure, wherein M is at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, and Tm; X=2; Z=3+AY; A is less than about 1.8, and Y is the number of carbon atoms in the oxycarbonate. When used for the oxidative dehydrogenation of a lower hydrocarbon at a pressure above about 100 psig, the catalyst has a selectivity of at least about 40% to at least one higher hydrocarbon and/or lower olefin. Methods for preparing catalysts taught by the invention and processes for using the catalysts for the oxidative dehydrogenation of lower hydrocarbons are also provided.
