    • A motorized beach vehicle has a gear lever clutching structure for prevention of gear slip. The gear lever, the linking arm and the swing arm are connected to form a substantially “h”-shaped structure. The gear lever may be pivoted to combine the combination stud of the swing arm with the combination hole of the combination arm, so that the gear lever may be moved to shift the universal connector of the crank so as to change the speed. After the gear lever accomplishes the gear shifting work, the combination stud is detached from the combination hole of the combination arm. Thus, the crank cannot be moved to shift gear in the gearbox due to vibration or shock applied on the vehicle body, thereby preventing from incurring gear slip of the gearbox of the motorized beach vehicle.

    • A shift lever device which includes a housing, a shift lever, a knob, a rod with a key and a locking mechanism. The shift lever has a tube and a supporting member provided with a pivot supported by the housing on the vehicle body and a base block to which the tube is connected. The knob is connected to the tube. The rod inserted through the shift lever, is movable in an axial direction by operating the knob button of the knob. The key has a detent engaging portion to engage with a detent plate of the housing. The locking mechanism has a lock lever with a locking portion at its tip. The lock lever swings so that the locking portion is interposed between the base block and the key to lock movement of the rod, thus maintaining the engagement of the detent engaging portion with the detent plate.

    • A transmission for changing a ratio of a rotational number of a power source and a rotational number of an output shaft by shifting a gear train provided between the power source and the output shaft by moving a shift fork. The transmission includes a shift drum for moving the shift fork, a clutch provided between the power source and the gear train, a shift spindle for urging the shift drum and the clutch. When the shift spindle is pivoted, lift of a clutch is started by pivoting a clutch arm. In accordance with pivoting the shift spindle, a sub arm is pivoted and preload is applied on a master arm by a preload spring. Thereafter, when the sub arm is further pivoted, the master arm follows the sub arm and a shift drum is pivoted via index pins. Since the preload is applied, when the clutch is disengaged, the shift drum is pivoted immediately, a shift fork is displaced and gears are switched.

    • A shift lever device in which a shift lever lock mechanism is not released inadvertently, and improper operation is prevented. In the shift lever device, a lock plate, which impedes movement of a detent rod, is covered by a cavity portion of a shift lever. These internal devices are covered by a cover box and a detent plate. In a P shift position, a gap formed by, on the one hand, the cover box and the detent plate, and, on the other hand, the shift lever and the cavity portion thereof, is a labyrinthine structure which is stepped along a horizontal direction. Accordingly, improper operation can be further prevented.
