摘要： A method for cutting sheet material including positioning the material on an upper surface of a guide table having slots. A blade of a saw is aligned with one of the slots and the saw is energized. The blade is advanced through the sheet material with the blade in the slot to cut the material along a line corresponding to the slot. Apparatus for cutting sheet material is also disclosed. The apparatus includes a saw and a guide table including an upper surface having a plurality of elongate slots therein for receiving the saw blade to guide the saw along the surface.

摘要： A laser emitter projects a planer light beam to form an optical guideline on a work piece extending in a cutting direction of saw blade. The laser emitter is arranged behind, in the cutting direction, a tangential line of the circumference of the saw blade at an intersection of a bottom surface of the base and the circumference at a front side of the base in the cutting direction. The laser emitter forms the optical guideline behind the intersection in the cutting direction. The laser emitter is supported in respect of the saw blade slidingly in a direction defined by a rotation axis of the saw blade. The saw cover may have a window to transmit the laser beam toward the cutting point. A shutter selectively shutting the window may be provided.

摘要： A miter saw including a base portion and a main body portion laterally tiltable and vertically pivotable. The main body portion includes a circular saw blade whose one side is provided with a power transmission mechanism. The mechanism includes a motor shaft pulley fixed to a motor shaft of a motor, a saw blade shaft extending in parallel with the motor shaft and an intermediate shaft extending in parallel with the saw blade shaft and positioned between the motor shaft and the saw blade shaft. On the saw blade shaft, a first saw blade shaft bearing, a flanged abutment portion, a gear and a second saw blade shaft bearing are arrayed in an order from the circular saw blade. On the intermediate shaft, a pinion meshedly engaged with the gear, a first intermediate shaft bearing in alignment with the second saw blade shaft bearing, an intermediate shaft pulley in alignment with the motor shaft pulley and a second intermediate shaft bearing are arrayed in this order from the circular saw blade. The gear and the pinion are positioned closest to the circular saw blade, which permits an axial thickness of the abutment portion to be reduced for reducing entire axial thickness of the power transmission mechanism.
