摘要： A bread slicer that can be used by a person with normal sight but especially designed to be readily used by a blind person. Adjustable means is provided for advancing the loaf of bread, or other object to be sliced, the same measured distance toward a cutting knife each time a slice is cut so that the slices will be of uniform thickness. Equally spaced apart notches are associated with the loaf advancing means so that a blind person can feel these notches and can move the loaf one notch at a time to obtain slices of the same thickness. The sides of the loaf are gripped during the cutting operation. A pair of guides for the cutting knife are magnetized for supporting the knife when not used.

摘要： 1468248 Slicing foodstuffs J HACK 7 Aug 1974 34762/74 Heading A4C Apparatus for slicing foodstuffs consists of a V-section support plate 1 provided with ribs 9 and a pair of vertical guides 2 each provided with a slot 4 for a handled elongate knife, a plate 10 of polygonal shape having an edge 13 which forms a stop to define slice thickness, the plate being supported at each side by a leg 11 with the legs of each side being spaced at different distances from the edge whereby a variety of slice thicknesses may be obtained by positioning the appropriate leg into a recess 12 of the support. Cut slices are received on the plate, and an enlargement at the top of each slot 4 allows a stop at the end of the knife to pass therethrough to withdraw the knife from the guides.

摘要： 1448515 Aseptic slicing of food MICARNA AG FLEISCHWARENFABRIK 6 July 1974 30046/74 Heading A4C [Also in Division F4] Bulk foodstuffs are sliced by a reciprocable rotating blade 4 located in a housing 6 which is fed with sterilized heated air through a pipe 7, the air being between 200‹C and 350‹C to maintain the blade at a sterilized temperature of between 100‹/and 135‹C. Cooled sterilized air from a hose 21 is supplied to a pivotable hood 8 located over the bulk foodstuff secured on a slide and driven towards the blade by a motor driven screw 25. An ultraviolet lamp may be located in hood 8 with a further lamp directed towards the underside of a conveyer belt 14 on which the cut slices are fed to a packaging machine. The pressure in housing 6 and hood 8 is greater than ambient pressure to prevent penetration of non-sterile ambient air. Air is supplied through a duct 41, Fig. 3, to a cylindrical pre-heater 40 containing electric coil heaters 42, 43 and then to a main heater 18 which includes a spiral electric heating element 48, a tubular filter 49, a further heater 51 and an outlet duct 50. Heated air from the duct 50 passes through pipe 7 to housing 6 and via a valved duct 52 to a cooling unit 53 in which the air is cooled by passing over water pipes 55 before passing out through hose 21 to the hood 8. The Specification also discloses heating blade 4 by electric resistance heating, induction heating or flame heating.
