    • PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity of detection of weld zone signal in detecting the weld zone without contact by using a detecting probe coil in which the primary coil is differentially connected with the center pole of E type core and the secondary coil is differentially connected with both side poles. CONSTITUTION:A probe coil 9 in which the primary coil 11 is differentially connected with the center pole of E type core 11 and a pair of secondary coils 12, 12' are differentially connected with both side poles is used as a noncontacting type detector for detecting the weld zone of a weld member 15. A coil 9 is fixed at a specified distance from a weld member 15 to be measured and AC current is supplied to the primary coil 1 and a pair of difference voltage induced in the secondary coils 12, 12' is synchronous detected as reference voltage of the AC voltage. The welding signal is obtained when the weld zone 16 comes below the probe coil 9 and personal error that required bridge adjustment no longer occurs. Thus, the weld zone can be detected accurately.
