    • A turning roll assembly for the supporting and rotating of a cylindrical object (5) has two pairs of two roller sets which are axially displaced in relation to each other. A supporting roller of each of the roller sets is rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis (23) in a holder (15, 20) which is swivable about an axis (16) situated in a normal plane to the axis of rotation of the object. At least three holders (15, 20) are mounted on a carriage (3) each. The carriages are freely movable on a foundation in the direction of the axis of the object. The assembly is provided with a mechanism (25, 27, 29) for each carnage which converts an axial movement of the carriage (3) to a swivel movement of the holder (15, 20) about its swivel axis (16). Thereby the foremost end of the roller axis (23) in the direction of movement of carriage swivels backwards in relation to the direction of rotation of the object.

    • A rotational motion mechanism capable of securely controlling the rotational angle of a rotational body with high accuracy and effecting miniaturization of a device. In this mechanism, a moving body is able to move in a two-dimensional plane. A driving means moves the moving body. A circumferential bearing is formed into a circularly annular shape and is provided in a plane that is parallel to the two-dimensional plane. The rotational body is carried by the circumferential bearing and is able to rotate on its axis. A guide portion is provided at least on one side of the rotational body and radially relative to the axis of the rotational body. A conecting member is provided on the moving body for rotation on an axis parallel to the axis of the rotational body, and is connected to the guide portion in such a manner as to move longitudinally of the guide portion to rotate the rotational body via the guide portion as the moving body moves.
