摘要： The invention relates to a liquid sampling device (100) comprising a support structure (106) having a liquid reception interface (130) that is in fluid communication with a reservoir chamber (134) and a microfluidic valve (136), the microfluidic valve (136) being connected to a measuring chamber (138). The liquid reception interface (130), the reservoir chamber (134) and the microfluidic valve (136) are configured to allow liquid entering the liquid reception interface to flow into the reservoir chamber (134) while being prevented from passing the microfluidic valve (136) unless a predetermined static pressure difference over the microfluidic valve (136) is exceeded. The microfluidic valve (136) is a passive valve without moving parts. Passing of liquid through the microfluidic valve is controlled by a static pressure difference overthe microfluidic valve (136). The reservoir chamber (134) is configured and arranged to cause high enough a static pressure at an entrance side of the microfluidic valve (136) that causes a flow of liquid through the microfluidic valve (136) into the measuring chamber (138) once the reservoir chamber (134) is completely filled.

摘要： Provided herein are self-collection devices for collecting and/or processing biofluids. The biofluid, such as saliva, is collected in a collection tube. A tube insert in the collection tube is configured to work with a cap having an integrated reservoir volume holding a reagent. Upon connecting the cap to the collection tube, the material in the reservoir volume is effectively introduced to or mixed with the sample in the collection tube. In this manner, there is no risk of user exposure to the reagent and no adverse impact on the ability to reliably mix reagent with sample. The device can then be shipped to a testing facility. Alternatively, a biomarker detection membrane may be used to detect more immediately, without shipping, presence or absence of a material in the sample. This provides for an almost instantaneous read-out that is incorporated into the self-collection device.

The sampling device has a proximal handling portion (3) and a distal scraping portion (4) comprising a scraping formation (9) configured to collect a sample of tissue when the distal scraping portion is rubbed against a surface of the tissue. The sampling device comprises an internal lumen configured for the supply of reaction liquid from a distal end of the tissue sampling device to the reaction volume via a distal aperture (7) disposed in the distal scraping portion when the tissue sampling device is mounted in the reaction chamber. An automated high-throughput sampling and indexing system is also described.
