摘要： A golf club head having a cavity back design with a recess therein for placement of a lightweight polymer material. The club head having a back surface of a club face. The polymer material only bonded to the recess by its perimeter with a predetermined void between the polymer and the back surface of the club face. The lightweight material allows for a larger club head and consequently a bigger sweet spot without increasing the overall weight of the club head. Unwanted vibrations caused upon the club head hitting a golf ball are dampened by a spring/mass system. The polymer material serves as the spring and a decorative medallion, which is attached only to the polymer and not the club head, provides the mass. Vibrations created by contact between club head and golf ball are dampened in accordance to material characteristics of the selected polymer.

摘要： Several features are combined to provide a balanced putter, which assists a player in perfecting a putt stroke during practice and repeating it with the same club during play. The clubhead is substantially symmetric around the shaft and has tapered top and bottom surfaces such that the angle of the shaft relative to the sole of the putter is no more than 80 degrees. The shaft is attached at the center of the clubhead, and the clubhead and shaft are arranged so that the center of gravity of the clubhead strikes the center of the golf ball. The clubhead has a playing surface on one face that is parabolic and can be flat in the extreme. The clubhead has a practice surface on the other face that is curved, preferably elliptical, to assist the golfer in learning the proper stroke. The putter conforms to the Rules of Golf so that the player does not have to change clubs between practice and play. The club may be used for a right- or left-handed stroke.

摘要： A slotted hosel and related attachment system and method are provided for securely affixing a golf club head to the end of a golf club shaft. The hosel is formed to extend generally upwardly from a heel end of the club head and has a generally cylindrical shape defining an upwardly open hosel bore. At least one and preferably multiple laterally open slots are formed in the hosel to reduce the weight thereof. A relatively thin-walled liner sleeve is slide-fitted into the hosel bore and thereafter expanded to form dimples therein protruding outwardly into secure mechanical interlocking relation with the hosel. The end of the club shaft is thereafter slide-fitted into the liner sleeve and securely affixed therein by epoxy or the like.

The sole and crown part of the body are cast thinner than most other club heads to promote deformation when striking a golf ball. A parabolic shaped rise in both the crown and sole provide increased lateral strength while aiding in reducing the deformation of the ball at impact. The lower portion of the face has two end portions, and a center portion with the end portions having a first thickness. The center portion and the upper portion of the face have a second thickness that is thicker than the first thickness. In addition, the face plate is welded or bonded into a front opening of the cast body. The overall effect of this invention is to reduce deformation of the golf ball at impact, which reduces the energy lost as heat in the golf ball, resulting in farther drives.
