摘要： The invention includes a computer-based diagnostic system to detect and analyze ground reaction forces produced by an animal passing through the diagnostic system, wherein the system is particularly suited for detecting lameness in animals through analysis of the forces generated by the animal as it moves through the apparatus and system of the invention. The invention includes, in one aspect, a first plate and a second plate disposed adjacent the first plate, a first plurality of load cells, and a second plurality of load cells. Each of the first plurality of load cells is configured to detect a force applied to the first plate along at least one axis and output a signal representative of the detected force and each of the second plurality of load cells is configured to detect a force applied to the second plate along at least one axis and output a signal representative of the detected force. A processor is provided and adapted to execute at least one force analysis instruction set, whereby the force analysis instruction set receives the signals output from the first and second plurality of load cells and calculates, in combination with the processor, a magnitude and location of a force applied to either of the first plate and the second plate.

摘要： A test kit and method for visualizing fine lines and wrinkles is provided, the kit including a transparent strip with an adhesive on one surface thereof and an imaging substrate with at least one darkened glossy area for receiving the transparent strip. Written instructions are provided in the kit. These advise a consumer to place the adhesive surface of the strip against a skin area requiring measurement. Thereafter the strip is removed and placed against the darkened area of the substrate. Topographical features of the skin can be viewed through the transparent strip with the transferred skin image onto the blackened background. A cosmetic anti-aging product can be applied to the skin over a period of time. Beneficial changes caused by the product are visualized through the test strip as periodic measurements are taken.

摘要： A device is disclosed that enables a physician to remotely perform a physical examination of a patient. The device includes a hand control unit (100) that is shaped to accommodate a physician's hand, and includes a number of sensory modulation subunits (140) that can simultaneously detect applied pressure and exert pressure back to the physician. The hand control unit (100) connects through a computer (160) to a remote patient examination module (200) interfaces with a remotely located patient, preferably by wrapping around the portion of the patient's body that is to be examined. The patient examination module (200) includes a plurality of sensory modulation subunits (240) arranged in an array forming a flexible pad (202). In operation the sensory modulation subunits (240) of the patient examination module (200) receive a signal from the hand control unit (100) that indicates the location and magnitude of pressure's applied to the hand control unit (100) by the physician, and replicates that pressure in the patient through the sensory modulation subunits (240), which simultaneously detect the responsive pressures exerted by the corresponding portions of the patient's body. The magnitude and location of these responsive pressures are converted to a digital signal that is fed back to the hand control unit (100) sensory modulation subunits (140), providing the physician with a tactile response simulating direct contact with the patient.
