At least one hook is attached to the fishing line at a position spaced from the end of the fishing line. The float assumes a vertical position when a fish is caught.

A fishing line is connected to one apex and carries a weight on its opposite end. Fish hooks are secured to the line with bait on the hooks. When a fish strikes, the downward pull on the line tips the float so that the leg opposite the attachment apex is slightly elevated above the surface of the water to provide a clear indication that a strike has occurred. This same leg serves as a handle for lifting the float and, hence, the fish out of the water.

摘要： A Slip Bobber for fishing that has a internal hook setting device. This Slip Bobber with hook setting device consists of a float (13) which is manufactured of a buoyant material. A hook setting device is inserted in a vertical position Down through the center of the float (13). The hook setting device is comprised of, a sleeve (14) which contains a coil spring (15) and a slide (16). The slide (16) has a longitudinal passage down through the center of it which allows free passage of the fishing line (10). On the outside of the sleeve (14) there are two sets of mounting arms. Attached to the lower set of mounting arms is the slide lock lever (23) which holds the slide (16) and the coil spring (15) in their compressed position. Attached to the upper set of mounting arms is the release lever (18). On the outward end of the release lever (18) there is the release lever roller (21). The release lever roller (21) holds the slide lock lever (23) into it's locked position. On the inward end of the release lever (18) is the fishing line slot which allows the fishing line (10) to slide down through the device until the enlargement (10) comes to rest on the edges of the fishing line slot. Once the device set, any downward pressure on the fishing line (10) will rotate the release lever (18) and release the slide lock lever (23). Which in turn, releases the slide (16). The slide (16) will the move upward, creating a sudden jerk on the fishing line (10), setting the hook.

摘要： A free floating fishing apparatus includes a float and a spool that is positioned on the float for holding a supply of line to be dispensed. A line holding beam is mounted on the float and has a line guide that enables fishing line to be spooled from the spool through the line guide and then underwater for fishing. Rigging such as a hook, sinker or the like can be attached to the free end portion of a line. The spool is comprised of two sections, a non-rotating section which is received over the float and a rotating section received over the non-rotating section. A finite length of line is wound on the rotating section and a selected amount is payed out prior to fishing. The free end of the payed out line is attached to a hook and perhaps a float and the float and hook are dropped into the water. Depending upon the amount of line wound and whether the spool sections are locked during fishing, a finite amount of line may pay our after the fish has struck the hook.
