    • PURPOSE: A normal and ectopic pregnancy diagnosis apparatus and method for manufacturing the same is provided to distinguish, in a rapid and accurate manner, between normal and ectopic pregnancy during an early stage of pregnancy by detecting the type of human chorionic gonadotropin(hCG) contained in the urine of the pregnant woman. The anti perfect type-hCG monoclonal antibody is paired with the anti alpha-hCG monoclonal antibody, and the anti deformed-hCG monoclonal antibody is paired with the anti beta-hCG monoclonal antibody, so as to detect the perfect type-hCG and deformed-hCG existing in the urine of the pregnant woman.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen for screening-testing the presence of a Down's syndrome of a fetus of a gravida comprising a hyperglycosylated gonadotropin.
      SOLUTION: The hyperglycosylated gonadotropin comprises a variant population of chorionic gonadotropin, a chorionic gonadotropin-free β-subunit, a β-core fragment, and/or α-subunit, and those are difference in a carbohydrate content from one observed in a sample obtained from the gravida carrying the normal fetus. The presence of the Down's syndrome is indicated in the fetus of the woman by qualitative or quantitative observation of a difference in the carbohydrate content of the hyperglycosylated gonadotropin population from a control sample containing a normal gonadotropin population, or by direct observation of the variant species appearing in the Down's syndrome. A typical screen test includes carbohydrate analysis, immunoassay, or a combination thereof. For example, the screen test uses concanavalin A reactive to the carbohydrate moiety, and an antibody to a hyperglycosylated species.
