There are in the guiding sleeves of the frames and in the articulation housing, means for the retention of the unfolded position and, in the resistant base, other means for fitting said frames in the folded position.

A ratchet clutch (136) is used to permit up or down movement of the racks (110) and to maintain the racks (110), and hence the basket (16), at any desired vertical position. The cart (10) includes a handle (166) to permit the cart to be maneuvered, a brake for one or both of the rear wheels (48), a shelf (61) that extends rearwardly between the front legs (40), and a bumper (66) that extends forwardly of the front legs (40).
